Z4M

two questions:
Does the 2009 - 2011 Z4M have hydraulic steering as standard rather than electric? And two:
Is the Z4M variable suspension at standard setting of same comfort as other 2009 - 2011 Z4's. I know at sport setting the M variant gives a hard ride. Just want to know if to include the M in my search or not, and is the M insurance much higher?
Thanks

Hi bil
There’s no M// in the 2009 e89
If you mean the 35i and 35is then electric steering on both, 35is adaptive suspension as standard and only in DCT gearbox, 35i adaptive is an option and also available in manual or DCT box.

Just a thought, if you mean Msport then that’s a trim level option, which I think was available on all models, all the e89 have electric steering but not many opted for adaptive suspension

2009-2011 2.5 is described as 23M. understand this is a trim level with adaptive suspension.
SO DOES ADAPTIVE SUSPENSION GIVE SAME RIDE COMFORT/SETTINGS AS 23I; BUT WITH HARDER RIDE LOWER SPORTS SETTINGS?
adverts imply the 23M variant gives hard Ride; but I guess only in Sport settings mode.

Assume insurance much the same for 23i and 23M
Cheers

Welcome to the forum.

As far as I'm aware all 2.5 litre E89s were badged as 23i, some had M-Sport trim and some didn't. But Adaptive Suspension would only ever have been an option and may not even have been offered on 23is - even if it was I'd be amazed if anyone chose it!
