Z4M - where to go next?

Well that got a bit boring just all pulling random performance stats to prove points so I'll leave that whole thing well alone and we can enjoy different cars :)

Ah well nobody would've posted any stats if you hadn't made some spurious claims about the F-Type's performance and stirred the pot.... :D You can't moan about boring stats when you've been proved wrong! :P Mine weren't random either. They were specific to prove the original point and they were fully verified and tested by the same magazine using exactly the same test gear, test track and methods. Unlike yours.

Ooh interesting, would like to know your thoughts on the comparison between the 3.4S and the Z4M. My co-Directors girlfriend has one in Seal Grey and having driven and passengered in it there are a few things I prefer about this Boxster but the Z edges it for me still. :)

The Z is tighter and a blunt power house. To me a reliable TVR. The Porker is more refined with some of the punch. Its no slouch and the mid engine provides more grip Imo.

Lets face it anyone who can afford either a Boxster S or Z4M is lucky person
As for TVR -nice idea in principle i admit but will often end in tears

Actually that's so close to true to be funny

Similar to my friend who has a Cobra. He tells me you have to accept from day one it plans to kill you and thus drive like a granny

As a friend you should tell him to go get a pair.

Hey Craig,
It's not that I disagree on the 4WD just that I feel it makes it too easy as does 4WD on most cars. There's no challenge on normal dry roads at acceptable speeds. In the wet I fully agree and if I ever moved up to the 600 hp world of the SVR or even stock V8 it would be near essential
The financial step up is always a challenge and can never be easily justified, hence I kept my Zed for a decade

I like that anolaogy

Love this thread as too the Cobra hahah
427 was a killer as raw raw power of which many couldn't and can't control
But what a beautiful car !!

I honestly still feel for flimper
As I too don't know where to go after the Z
Hence looking at Sc kitt
As same awesome car but the M sleeper effect to take on silly fast new cars and smile at them in rear view

As new cars I love look of but find sterile if know what I mean?
M3/4 stunning but just not raw of which appears we all collectively love

Ps Tvr wise what are my personal fav going For?
SAGARIS tvr for porn
Tamora is nice too

I had a go in a M2 which I was planning on replacing the z4 with today.

Massively disappointed with it, or maybe its just modern cars in general. I always think the Z4m has poor steering feel, but my god the M2 is appalling. Generally it didn't feel special at all, and was barely quicker than the Z4m.

So moral of the story - they are damn hard to replace! Characterful little buggers;)

z4 hydraulic steering feel is so good on the z4m..... direct , weighty , its only to you start driving other cars you can appreciate the z4m steering setup, its one of the car best features for me....

Lotus Elise SC
Cheap; Quick; Massive :D Factor
(But you'll need another car too)

I think that's where I'd go too. 8) Might have to wait until I have the space to keep the z4 though as like you say, I'll need something practical!

It's always interesting how people can view cars so very differently. To me this is right at the bottom of the list: impractical, not that quick (compared to other similarly impractical cars) with a boring engine note, no lsd, only adequate brakes for track use, no intercooler so performance drops off and a pain to work on.
I spent a lot of time driving a friends SC on road and track. Definitely not saying you are wrong/I am right, just my take on this car. :)

I moved on to an Aston martin V8VS and I've never looked back. The Aston is just awesome, but I do miss my MC a wee bit!
