Z4M wheels on a non-M Zed?

Hi, will a standard set of Z4M wheels and tyres fit on a non-M Zed without any rubbing issues?

I'm aware the tyre profiles are a little different on the M car

I don;t want to put non-M tyres on M wheels

With the rears protruding so making the Z look more squat

I had to change the tyres from 225/45/18 and 255/40/18 down to 225/40/18 and 255/35/18 to avoid rubbing, it also keeps the rolling radius correct for a non M car.

I was thinking of buying a used set of 224 M double spoke alloys to fit on to my 2008 3.0Si roadster. Suspension hasn't been lowered, so what recomendations re tyre sizes that will look and fit the car best?

Sorry can't help you Brian, but hopefully those that have M wheels on their non M zeds will be able to give you some choice options. I guess by the way you said look, you mean you're looking for a meaner stance :)

Yeah I hav seen a few zeds where the wheels come out further than standard filling the arches and it make the cars look really mean looking :wink: After that look, I know some are down to tyre sizes, mind u I don't want to be rubbing though

put a set of M's on my coupe recently & noticed the offset immediately . the stance/appearance changed for the better :evil:

They look really smart and they suit the car, Perfect stance. Is your car lowered or standard suspension and also can I ask what size tyres you have fitted and is there enough clearence so that they don't rub going over speed bumps :)
 
car is on Msport suspension ,
tyres are / fronts 225/40/18 vredestein ultrac cento
rears 255/35/18 vredestein sessanta

good luck with the search mate , ,well worth the effort & ££££ . bought my set thinking if they look ok they stay .
if not i'l sell them on , ,
once fitted i knew they were the wheels for my zed .

Do ZM’s come with OUT run-flat tires?
I also am looking to get some ZM double spoked wheel’s,
I know there’s a lot of debate about ditching run-flat tires (I have previously tried this on a different car)
but Personally if I can keep the new-ish tires I have on my MV2 I will.

i had same thoughts until a kind forum member pointed out that the M rims will take RF,s but they would not work as designed ,
a runflat rim has a 2nd ridge on inside for the tyre to sit on when flat , ,the M wheels do not have this ridge :?
a pi55er for me with 4 almost new bridgestones but the plus was getting a much better ride & feel from standard rubber :thumbsup:

Some very useful info guys , just what I was looking for and has answered a load of my questions. :thumbsup: Only issue now will be to find some alloys and then what colour to paint them, but thats for another time and thread :)
