What is the correct manufacturers quoted power output of the Z4M Roadster ?

The printout from BMW's 'approved used' site for the one I am buying (2006/56 plate) states 325 bhp ???

I thought they were 343PS / 338 bhp .... or are there two versions out there ??

Also, has anyone had one on a rolling road to see whether they produce roughly what BMW say / less .... or more ?

From memory it is 343hp.

But this is at the engine. You should (if calibrated correctly) get a figure about 20% lower than that at the wheels (transmission and diff losses).

Most dynos have their figures upped by this percentage to mimic engine measurements.

I've seen motorbike dynos calibrate the losses after the engine by dragging a slowing mass with the clutch in.

The truth is, a dyno can be made to read whatever you want. It's greatest use is to measure changes, not absolutes.
Peak power is one goal but 'area under the curve' is mine.

american cars have slightly less power too, something not always obvious when googling.

Andy,

What is a pogoalert? Does your suspension stick? Have you got electric low rider settings and can them make the Z4 jump in the air? Made me smile!
