Z4M vs Boxster S on Top Gear

Hey there,

Did anyone catch the Top Gear episode on BBCA last night? I think it was a new one, and early in the show Hammond did an on-track comparison of the Boxster S and the Z4M.

There was no conclusion saying one was better than the other (although Hammond seemed to give the Z4M the thumbs up for having a greater fun factor), but just the differences being pointed out between the two ... where the Porsche makes heros out of ordinary drivers, and the Z4M needs a driver that's already a hero.

Anyway, just though it was cool (and certainly makes me want to trade up for an M!!!) seeing the Z tear through the corners with A LOT more excitement than the Boxster.

Hope you all caught it, and did anyone take any different thoughts away from the show?

Yes, I did see it last night and it was quite positive about the MZ4. :thumbsup:

I had seen it somewhere once before. Maybe Utube but not sure.
 
Wow, I wouldn't think it'd be much of a comparison anyway - why would they want to put a Boxster up against an ///M :scratchhead: . Seems a little obvious to me which would be the preferred car. But of course, I'm not playing favoritism at all :roundel:
 
Hmmm, it might be an old episode. I couldn't get to the YouTube link, but a quick search on wikipedia revealed the original airing date of May '06.

Dang it!!! BBCA said it was a new episode!!! :x I guess we're not getting new epi's in the U.S. But it is still great fun to watch the TG guys' antics :D

X2, still good to see it air here in the States finally again..I did tape last night's though so I can watch it again.. :thumbsup:
 
I think the episode is new to us in the United States, as we've been deprived of Top Gear for about a year. Now that BBC America has picked it up, we can get our fixes once again. I think it's the best car show on television.

I think you are probably seeing old episodes from england, but new to America. I've been watching the new episodes or that is what I think they are and I found it was too much chit-chat where they sit around in the studio with a visitor and chat for 10-15 minutes inbetween the car stuff. I found that boring so I dropped the show and are now looking at fifth gear. They are probably old episodes as well (I just recently saw an episode with critics of the Z4 M roadster when that came out), but at least they are fast faced fun, packed with car stuff.
 
I love this video and have probably watched it 10 times. I love when he grabs it by the "scruff of the neck." Yayyyyyy.
