Hi all,

Haven't posted in a while but was out testing my GoPro setup over the weekend and thought I'd share the sample video with you.

Probably not the most exciting video as it was just a test shot but might of interest to the crowd in here. Car is a completely stock Z4M Coupe.

I am planning on taking a few more in the near future so I would welcome any comments and feedback for next time.

Good camera angle. The rasp from the exhausts :evil:

Was the microphone positioned where the camera was located?
 
Hi guys,

As in my previous post.. this is a completely stock car! It could be because the microphone was mounted very close to the exhaust however this is the actual sound.

Obviously doesn't sound like that inside the cabin but the character is there.

I'll try to record another one this weekend for comparison.

Sounds like mine - with the roof down, which will be why the coupé guys think its not stock :wink:

Remember the mic is next to the exhaust so you can't hear the induction roar from the engine, which make the whole sound experience different.

How is th emit connected to the GoPro ? I do like the lack of the wind noise that blights many otherwise awesome videos.
 
Cool video! Car looks great out there. If anybody doubts the noise their car makes - get a mate to drive your car away from you in a little anger - so raspy!!!!! You just can't hear that inside, unless you own the tented version
 
Finally some believers! Thanks for the comments guys.

As for the mic, there is a USB port on the GoPro and they offer an accessory which turns it into a mini jack essentially turning it into a mic port. Then you just need to find a mic of your liking and obviously mount it somewhere on the car.
 
Ok, so it is a wireless connection ? Pretty cool. I now want a gopro and fancy mic :D

No it's not a wireless connection. I actually have a 5m (or 10m can't remember right now) that I run from the camera, inside the car and out the back. Was easier and cheaper to sort out but I am pretty sure you can get a wireless connection using some sort of lavaliere mic or whatever wireless system can work with a 3.5mm jack, which is pretty much all of them.
 
Very nice video mate. Love the sounds! looks like the road from Shargha to dubai - Sheikh zaid road? :driving:
