Z4M Turbo conversion

Hi, I want to get a lot more power out of my 2007 z4m coupe, then I though about supercharging or turbocharging the car, has anyone got any experience or a pinion on this topic.

Think a few people have supercharged E46 M3s, same engine so may be worth asking on M3Cutters. Not cheap to do it properly...

Yup Beedub is your man on here.

Click on the search engine Type supercharger and auther Beedub. Will take a week to read it all but every thing you need to know is there.

Think this was the main thread at the time he installed his set up.

Keep us posted, and lots of pics. :D

its an expensive road... but at the end of it you'll have performance that you'll struggle to match without going into the supercar territory.
But that also makes changing the car very difficult and in way and kinds forced me to keep it, as i actually cant afford to match it performance in a similar package.

The car will need all the major components upgrading if you plan to use the car hard for sustained amount of time. The engine is very strong but the same foibles need addressing or may need addressing earlier ?? rod bearings, vanos, HG.

if theirs anything you need to ask then shoot, that old thread is helpful but I've now had experience with various different stages of s/c and the pitfalls and pro's are now very clear for me.. Would i do it again?? Yes its probably been one of the best motoring journeys I've ever had. The car is a total beast, but out of power its just a docile as before , infact i often lift the hood and people ask me what bits not stock.... not sure thats a good thing or a bad thing but its very oem looking, i tried to keep it all black and crackle black, its really porn material lol.

This is about to go through some further changes and already has done, but i haven't really posted much about the changes as tbh i didn't think people were that bothered.. i believe in the UK its one of under 5 done on the z4m platform theirs LOADS of m3s running the kit world literally thousands, including one that had a ring record for a while, and i believe its the only z4m s/c in the uk thats been used extensively on the track, I've had the s/c unit so hot I've heated my beans on it in a takeaway tin at midday lunch intervals.. lol....

I'm interested in hearing all about these changes (I've followed/read all your threads)
I even have the same 260m wheels haha :poke:
I'll be fitting my V3Si sometime this year.
I have a full custom (tested) kit from an M3.

i think a few would now, maybe in summer we could have a little meet somewhere local and ill bring the z4 so people interested can have a wonder.

what would be REALLY cool would be a turbo conversion, don't think this has been successfully done with the z4m yet, but personally i don't think a turbos power delivery would suit the car at all, the S/C just feels like an engine swap.

Deffo buddy
I'm
Going to August zfest but that's an age away!
I live near Oxford and a few around area

Perhaps a meet around that sort of area or even a gaydon trip ?
Ps mines at BMW Tuesday H&R springs and decats;)

Abusing their new 4 series for the day haha

Can't wait !

HPF used to offer a twin turbo setup for RHD cars a few years back, it seems to be long discontinued now.

Much easier on LHD due to not having the steering in the way.

Spill the beans Byron, what are you plans? I'm still harbouring plans to supercharge my Zed, but a small matter of being 10,000 miles from the car is keeping them at bay just now. In due course I'll be sticking it in a shipping container, so I'm hoping a trip to Simpsons will precede that. For now I am driving a car with a supercharger, but it's bolted to a Mercedes engine

I'm just waiting for some parts to arrive but will update on here... mainly lightness but in a cool way.... I've also got some new cosmetic pieces that were custom for the car ( engine bay) to be precise so looking forward to getting those but the big one is about to hit by 7 days time id say..... The car will never have any further power upgrades however. Had it out yesterday getting ready for MOT and the car is looking, feeling and sounding really special.
