Z4M starting intermittently

My Z4M has been having problems starting intermittently. I'd get nothing on turning the key. 2 or 3 times then it would start.

I thought it might be the key so changed to spare and everything seemed fine as its starrted 1st time.

This morning I got a new tyre and when I got home I parked up and switched off the engine. I tried starting the car again straight away and nothing.

I tried about 10 times and nothing. Went indoors for 10 mins and tried again. After about 10 key turns it fired up.

I don't get a click or anything. Is this likley to be the starter motor or ignition switch ?
 
Sounds like starter motor solenoid to me, had very similar behaviour previously on the 3.0si. Motor's under the intake manifold right rear of engine bay, access is slightly tight but it should be possible to pull the plug off the starter and test for 12v on the trigger wire when the key is turned if you want to verify one or the other.

I took it too my mechanics this morning, they are going to investigate but with the bonnet up you can hear a click which they suspect is the solenoid.
