Hi, i'm new to the forum. i've just brought a 2006 z4 m roadster and the sports button has stopped working, the light on the switch still turns on and off but it makes no difference to the car anymore has anyone else had this or know what is wrong? :x

What makes you think it is not working? On an M it is not really that obvious.

Hi and welcome - link for throttle reset below......

An adaptive throttle reset will not do anything to the sport mode. If anything, shifting to sport mode is more pronouced without the throttle reset.

Activating sport mode is a DME function/program, you need to take the car to the dealer.

I find the effect of the sport button to be attenuated if I've been pootling around town and the car has adapted to this. Upon resetting the adaptive throttle, the effect of the sport button is much more marked.
I'm not suggesting that the two systems are interlinked, simply that each of these lead separately to a sharper throttle response. It's just possible that the throttle response of Stoner993's ///M has been reduced by the adaptive throttle to a level where, even with the sports button pressed, he no longer experiences the same immediacy of acceleration which previously he did.
It’s got to be worth a try anyway! :)
