I am at the point where I need to change the front struts. I'm going to be swapping a Z4M rear-end (whole cradle, diff, arms, etc) so the rear-end will be "M". Since the Z4M has lighter spindles and better strut mounting, I'm contemplating finding a pair of Z4M spindles to swap in as well. Then I'd have full "M spec" suspension.
As I understand it, the only appreciable difference between the M and non-M front-end is the spindles/struts. While the M control arm is "stronger", it is dimensionally the same and therefore all geometry remains the same.
So, simple question: Can I bolt the Z4M spindles (and struts) onto my Z4?
