Z4M service stamp issue

Thats correct just to clarify this is how the service book is now

pre delivery check ASTLE 16.4.07

running in check unstamped

oil service WILLIAMS STOCKPORT 4056miles 11.9.09

inspection 1 COOPER BANSTEAD 13106miles 24.04.12

When i purchased the car he had the the book sent off to get the oil service stamped sorted at 4056miles as he had the invoice but no stamp and he is telling me that he is 100% confident that the running in service was in the book at the time he posted it off. But as the book went missing it had to be redone and now it hasn't got the running in service. I never saw the original book so i can't confirm what he is saying and i have no clue

Aaah now I see,

Not that I am cynical, but now he knows how important this is, did he find when he got the original book back that there never was a stamp for the 1200, just what he was bluffing at the time. Because that would be a very good reason why that book has gone "missing in the post".....

Also I see that the car has gone outside its 2 year intervals, and although not by much, it is an excuse why a BMW warranty could be troublesome or goodwill repairs refused.
BMW will get out of paying any way they can, and this is a reason with even AUC cars been turned down.... All you can do is hope you get the sale reversed.

can anyone help tracking down a email for this chap as he was the last owner as im not sure he still live at his current location here is some info i have found out.

I was fortunate n my hunt for a Z4MC earlier in the year. Having bought quite a few cars fro a local dealer over the year they were happy to give me a print of the service history of a few cars on private sale I was interested in (all advertised on here). I dropped the one I was first interested in as the service history and number of owners didnt seems to stack up, probably no problem but as visits to see cars very expensive for me I wanted the paperwork on my short list to be ok. I am delighted with the car I bought.

i was looking into that site i tried that then all of a sudden i need the premium package for 24.99 to be to send a message which seems like a pile of crap.

IIRC, Williams Stockport didn't exist in 2009 as they bought out David Holmes BMW in mid-2010.

I know this as calls to the normally excellent David Holmes service department stopped being returned, their prices shot up by 20% overnight, and warranty work (i.e. tailgate corrosion) was taking 6 months to be processed/approved

Apologies if slightly off topic - is it just the ///M's that have the 1200 mile running in service?
.

yep only the ///m as this uses 'special' running in oil which has to be replaced at/around 1200 miles

I will be getting in contact with the dvla in the morning and requesting the details of the first two owners to find out if this service was carried out and try to resolve this matter if not i will take this matter to court i will not let this lie. What do you guys think it would cost me in fee's if i took this matter to court 1-2k in fees.

Lets see what contacting the previous owners digs up and i will go from there if everything goes tits up and i have to sell the car as it is what do you think i will be able to sell the car for it. It has 14k on the clock good condition all the usual extras sat nav etc and a new set of pss tyres all around i was looking to put it up for just under 18k if i sort out the running in service but without this what am i looking at.

Erol, because both the other services were done late I think it makes the 1200 service less important now, than if it would otherwise be a perfect history.

What do you think should be a fair price to sell the car as it is at the moment because ive got my eye on my next car i will need to get this shifted and would need to price accordingly.

yup i still have the csl's on them as i had the pss fitted to them can't be bothered to mess about removing the tyres but they are reps not original's as the cost's really mounted up buying the tyres, alloys suspension at once.

It's hard to judge, looking at the BMW website the prices are all over the place.

Don't want to offend you, but £16 to 16.5k should be do-able quite quickly?

No offence taken at all mate i kind of had a figure like that in my head to so id still be happy with that if the sh*t hits the fan but im still going to push hard to try and resolve this issue thanks for your help i will keep this post updated and fingers crossed get this sorted out.
