Hi all, just want yo get my z4m serviced its on 42000 miles just wondered if you could tell me what to change and good brands

I.e best oil etc and plugs

Does it have a cam belt? :)

Which service? Oil, Inspection 1, Inspection 2?

I'd stick with OE quality items for plugs, oils, filters, etc. - but buy them from somewhere other than your dealer. In fact I think EuroCarParts have got another one of there 25% discount codes running.

How has it been serviced in the past and when is it showing as being required? I believe you need Castrol Edge FST 10W-60 or Castrol TWS 10W-60 If you are DIY then oilman @ opieoils are very good to buy from.

Email for me - their oil discount code is CASTROL30 and runs until Sunday.

where do you get eurocarparts code from? thanks
The code is usually on the biggest banner (rotates through a few different ones) on their homepage.

Something like this...

Ahhh when I turn ignition on says 2500 miles to next service

It will also say inspection on same screen if it needs an inspection 1 or 2, if not then normal oil / brake fluid service needed

If it said Inspection and you're coming up for needing it at 45k then it is an Inspection II so make sure your mechanic knows how to do one of those and prepare yourself for a big bill.

Ah ok thanks and ill prob get it done at bmw as its all main dealer so far
Shop around for prices (if you are happy to travel of course), as there can be a difference of £500 between one dealer and another.

The other recommendation is to see if there's a local-ish dealer using MainDealerDiscount - there's a dealer in Warwick or Stoke on there.

The dearest it should be is around £800 at a dealer although I'm led to believe it can be quite a bit cheaper if you shop about.

List price for an Inspection II on an ///M in the north-west (Cheshire, Merseyside) is about £1200
