z4m Seats

Are these different to the normal Z4s?

As years ago I had to passenger ride a work colleague's z4 to various meetings around the country, and I always came out of the car with the worse back ache....

can anyone else provide some feedback on z4m seats please.

Thanks

Depends if the z you were in had m sport seats or standard 'sport seats. The m sport seats are the same as the ///M

Back pain has been a problem for a few of us. I had it after long drives I have the standard seats. I did a simple mod raising the front of the seat sorted

I find the seats spectacularly comfortable, but then i hate squishy wobbly seats

There are a lot of adjustments though, so it takes time to get them set correctly - do this without touching the steering wheel, then adjust the wheel to suit the seat position

Yup the M seats in my MR are lovely and comfortable. They adjust in every direction which helps. The best seats I have sat in are the Recaros which are options on most performance cars and are in the BMW sport catalogue, these have minimal adjustment but are a perfect fit .

As above.. i have had a couple of GT esk company car's hire cars in my day (mondeo, 3 series, 5 series, vectra, saab 95 etc) and imo once they are set they are perfect for the long haul.. equal if not better then my current 118d.

I'd imagine if you are particularly wide then the bolster which offer no adjustments on the E85/6 could give some discomfort.

I also find the seats awful. IIRC, they came bottom of some JD power survey. Setting as per the Megafactires vid, is the only way. Quite upright with the front of the base tilted up as far as possible.

Never had a problem with any other seats including BMW / Porker etc seats.

If you think these seats are bad you should sit in a fiesta! After 2 hours me and the wife both suffering from sore bottoms and tired lower backs.

Not got a problem getting my 16 stone comfortably into them. Only got a problem with the lack of upper body support when pushing on.

Still prefer the cloth/suede seats in the e34 though - although I think they'd be too wide to fit in a Z4.

I have no problems with them on the road - I've driven from Nice to London in one go without back pain or other concerns - but they are a little underwhelming on the track

Seats fit nicely, then you come to some bends and slide around and get thrown out sideways. Good for driving to the shops thats the only good thing about them.

Individual spec seats are the same whether it's an M or not. All two tone seats are individual spec with New England leather. Some coloured seats are individual spec - such as champagne
