Z4M running costs advice

All of Edinburgh is in Band E or F, but my flat is also technically in a high risk flood area too, which probably doesn't help :(

Still - £200 off this year with a claim to declare isn't too bad. By next year I won't need to declare the claim. Should knock another £200 off...

The best quote for insurance I have had so far is £670 but the prices vary wildly. Definitely worth shopping around I was expecting it to be around the £800 mark. One thing that did surprise was the valuation the insurer put on the car by default of £9950 I would love to find a nice example at that price !!!

Thanks once again for all the info it's very useful. I know it's hard to predict costs but I like to get a good idea of people's experience running them.

I can feel a test drive coming on soon. Part of me is saying sod it you only live once just go for it !!

I'd say you only live once - just go for it. Once you drive one, you will want it, fact :p

Notts is probably the most annoying place in the world to own a fast car, sadly. I almost committed suicide last weekend sat on the M1 at 50mph for ~50 miles.

If you can afford a few hundred quid spare a month, you should be fine. You have to plan for the worst, though.

I've started using a broker called Keith Michaels as they were one of the last insurers to offer a policy that covered the Nurburgring as a normal road.

Unfortunately, by the time I'd got his details they'd stopped covering Nurburgring risks.

Still, they were cheaper (on a Marker Study policy) than any of the comparison sites. £880 for SDPC & business class 1, driving other cars (with the same full cover), up to 180 days in Europe, 25k miles a year, exhaust, suspension (was due to be fitted earlier so added it to the policy), intake, parked on road/drive in L25 postcode.
