Hi Folks,

I want to sell my 58 reg (Sept 08) Ruby Black Z4M Roadster, where would be the best place to sell it? Are any of the BMW dealers buying them back off folks? Anyone on here sold theres to a trader/dealer specifically looking for these models?

Many thanks,
Mike :D

Mikey - try Pistonheads.co.uk

They have a free classifieds section and it's used by enthusiasts that know their cars. You're most likely to get a good price from there.

If you're stuck i'll give you £15,000 for it

It looks like the Brits are selling and the Yanks are upgrading, for the most part. Odd.

Not really. I bet it costs way more to own an M car in the UK than it does in the USA.

Definitely!

Even with the pound being so weak, the OEM Continental tyres are still about £20 a corner cheaper in the US (comparing Tirerack to MyTyres), then you've got much cheaper fuel too!

A tank-full (i.e. 50 litres) here costs me about £51 ($85).

Don't forget double the cost of the other Z4's in road tax a year also! Bet that is the biggest difference between the UK and USA.

Blimey, how many more are selling their M's on here!! :?

Shocking isn`t it? FOr some I think the shock of the low prices a while ago followed by the recent rise is fuelling the desire to sell. Many other cars have of course gone up in value during this time so a trade up will probably be as expensive as before.

LOng term the cars (Coupe`s especiallY) will find long term BMW or M enthusiast owners.

I remember selling a Pontiac Firebird 6.6V8 just before petrol prices started going up in the UK the first time (I'm talking up to nearly 50p a litre!! ).
I know you can't compare the 2 but about a month or so later that car was almost unsaleable on the second hand market!

Must admit that I think anyone thinking of selling in the short term is probably better off selling now. I still think winter will see reduced prices again and I get the feeling it`s only a matter of time (a year or less) before petrol prices rise considerably again which will put some off.

I've been thinking about it too, as I have moved job location and my annual mileage will go up from 5000 year to around 15000 year.

I bought the car based on the lower mileage, as fuel, tyres, servicing, depreciation etc would all be less. It's now going to cost me a fair bit more, but after spending a few days of fantasy shopping, I still cant find anything I want to replace it with so I may well hang on to it until next year and take a view then....

The upside is I get to drive it more which is great :)
