Z4M Roadster - Low Mileage

—UPDATE— finally got one :driving:

I’m still looking to purchase a low mileage Z4M Roadster with good history, although ive realised I’ll have to be more open on colours and specs than initially hoped. I was originally looking for one without the sat nav screen (as prefer the cleaner look) but with the upgraded stereo (speakers behind the seats etc) but not an issue, also didn’t want black but open to anything really, it’s the condition and history I’m most focused on.

I’ve had 2 e85 2.5 and a g29 M40i First Edition, but yet to have the full M experience and it’s an itch I’ve just got to scratch.

If anyone’s considering selling their pride and joy, let me know. I’m looking for the right one as would like to think it could be a keeper.

Mine will be listed very soon, still working on the add/price and I need some photos.

Don't know if this might fit the bill:- https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=128875

Thanks, I’d just been looking at that one but slightly put off by the 5+ owners even though the other aspects seem good.

I wouldn't be too put off by 5 previous keepers in nearly 15 years - mine has had 7!

The earliest Z4Ms are 15 years old and the latest are almost 13 - in my 20s/30s I never had a car more than 2 years because there was always a desire for that next latest/greatest option.

And a change in circumstances like parenthood, new dog or longer commute doesn't always fit in with Z4 ownership!

You will struggle to find many with very few owners. I’m the 4th on mine and I’ve had it ten years nearly.

Also if you want DSP then most will come with Nav.

What do you class as low mileage?

Circa 40k or below ideally, and to be fair one like yours with a number of owners but where the last owner has had it 10 years so is a great as you as the current owner knows how it’s been looked after and a good chunk of the history.

Problem I have is I found one just before lockdown that had 1 previous owner and last owner for 14 years, not a single advisory on any mot and was mint, but COVID hit and played it safe and didn’t go through with it as everything at the time was uncertain, regret it now.

I do know as I struggle to keep 6 months even now never mind when in 20s, to fair it was about a year back then .

I think it’s because in my eyes I’d like this to be a keeper which I’ve not really contemplated before and as a weekend/special car so trying to drop on a good one while I can as they’re only going to get rarer and more expensive a good low mileage one.

I’ve seen one with 5k on it but extremely high price and I do want to drive it not just lock it away.

Ultra-low mileage on a 15 year old car might give you more problems than one with 40k+. Cars like to be driven, so unless you're looking for something to put in storage as an investment (which clearly you're not) I would be wary of something that old with up to 20/30k on the clock.

Disclaimer: I know nothing about cars.

Please message if you’re considering selling, I believe I have a healthy budget and willing to pay a premium for the right example (within reason), the funds are available so please get in touch.

Well after a 480 mile round trip I’m now the proud owner of a 2007 Z4MR with 46k miles on the clock. Quite a bit higher miles than I was originally after but with full BMW service history at regular intervals (not like the majority of low mileage examples) and really good condition I couldn’t turn it down.

Great news Andy, that looks great.

Enjoy scratching that "M" itch - I still am.

Looks lovely congrats welcome to the club

46k for a 14 year old car is like 3.2k a year so its not exactly high.... the lower it is the more likely its short little journeys and they don't do these much good really.

To top it off, was an approved used in 2013 and has had fully comprehensive BMW warranty extended ever since, runs up until June next year :driving:
