Steelies are actually lighter for plenty of wheels, especially road ones, but we like nice looking wheels.

Not to say full magnesium race wheels are not lighter still, but they are not much use for road use :D


I'm all for proper CSL's though, if your buying for an M car anyway :)

Buy the correct wheels and look after them and you will get some of your money back when you change cars. Or you can sell the originals and recoup something back straight away. Its not really £1700 pounds then is it.

Plenty of replicas about much cheaper if you wanna go that way.

The M3 CS has the same wheels - I don't think you need a CSL VIN if you're out to acquire some CS alloys from a dealer 8)

Afraid not, CS chassis number required for these as well. Also the CS front wheels are narrower than the CSL fronts. The BMW price will be about the same as Simpsons or Cooks Ferry anyway so why bother trying to get BMW to sell you them?
