For sale is my BMW Z4M Roadster, 2006/56, excellent condition, £12,995

My metallic Sapphire Black Z4M is in very good condition, has been well cared for and is unmodified. It has covered 79,750 miles and has recently had its Inspection service (including valve clearances).

Standard Features
Limited slip differential
Climate control air-conditioning (very cold)
Electric, black Nappa leather seats (memory on the driver’s side), both in excellent condition
Electric windows and heated, electric side mirrors
Xenon headlights

Factory fitted optional extras
My car has the following desirable and useful extras:
Black carbon leather, this is on the dashboard and other panels
Heated seats (lovely when the roof is down on a cool day)
Wind deflector, including roll hoop inserts
Cruise control
Rear parking sensors
Professional Hifi, this gives extra speakers behind the seats
Two cup holders (yes, these are factory extras!)

Tool kit, tyre compressor and locking wheel nut present.

Exterior
The metallic Sapphire black (592) bodywork is in good condition, there are very few marks or scratches. There are a few stone chips to the front bumper as expected for a car of this age. The 18” 224 design alloys have no marks and are in excellent condition, with matching Bridgestone Potenza RE050A tyres. The tread on all tyres is legal but will probably need changing next spring, I have priced the car to factor this in.
The electric roof works perfectly and the fabric is in lovely condition. No colour fade, rips, tears or leaks. The roof benefited from an AutoGlym treatment in August 2018 and October 2020 which has helped keep it looking in great condition and beads water. The car is kept in my garage, periodically I have checked that the drain plugs are clear.

History
MOT expires 8th June 2021, good service history, HPI clear with no accidents or finance.
There are 9 stamps in the service book including the running in service, with the last Inspection 1 service being at 77109 miles in May 2020, with brake fluid being replaced in September 2020. The next service is not due for another 12000 miles, although it’s kinder on the mechanicals to service it sooner than this in my opinion. A full wheel alignment and geometry set up was carried out in August 2020. I have kept all the receipts for previous work carried out during my ownership. All the handbooks are present along with both keys and the V5.

The service history is as follows:
24/11/06 – 1004 miles - Running In service
22/06/07 – 9295 miles – Oil service
20/02/09 – 21107 miles – Inspection 1 and Brake fluid
10/07/10 – 33277 miles – Oil Service
09/05/12 – 44403 miles – Oil service and Brake fluid
22/09/14 – 52046 miles – Oil service
05/12/16 – 65988 miles – Inspection 2 and Brake fluid
29/07/18 – 71828 miles – Oil service and Brake fluid
25/05/20 – 77109 miles – Inspection 1
05/09/20 – 78259 miles – Brake fluid

Recent work, aside from the Inspection service, includes the replacement of a sticking headlight washer jet, front anti roll bar drop links and the steering shaft (had a tiny amount of play).

Negative points
As mentioned before, the tyres have low tread (a few thousand miles remain), the headlights could do with a slight polish (and I’m being critical), other than that I can’t think of anything else.

Summary
Having covered less than 80K miles this is a very nice example and drives really well. I have had it well looked after both cosmetically and mechanically and it has been garaged for the majority of my ownership. I have thoroughly enjoyed my ownership, this is one of three BMW’s I currently own. I live within walking distance of work (near Chippenham, Wiltshire) so the car is rarely used now.

Clean car, good service history and a thorough write up.

How many owners and for how long have you owned it?

I’m not sure I would class nearly 8 years and 46k miles between inspections as a ‘good service history’ :?

Don’t be silly.

The car’s oil has been changed every circa 10,000 miles / 1.5 years (this is the important part).

Inspection services (where the fulcrum is the valve clearances) should be checked every 30,000 miles, however they will not necessarily need adjusting and so I wouldn’t be too concerned over the extra 15,000 miles this car has done without a valve clearance.

Furthermore clearances were done in May this year and so any future owner will not have to worry about them for another 20/30,000 miles.

If you wanted to be fussy you could have a look at the shims reports from each Inspection service (assuming the owner has them) but I really wouldn’t worry about this.

The car has 7 previous owners and I have owned it since June 2018.

I do also have the print out from the valve clearance service in May. I don't have one from the earlier Inspection 1 as this was before my ownership and wasn't with the paperwork when I purchased it.

Thanks

And you tell me not to be silly

Its good to know all of us M owners have been wasting our money on inspection 1 & 2’s when its just the oil we needed to worry about
I’m not going to ruin this guys sales thread with a pissing completion with you so I shall agree to disagree and let buyers decide what is important to them
