No, but it's a dire and very inaccurate advert. Car also looks a bit unloved or strongish money.
 
Never really understood why sellers fail to prepare a car before taking photos.
Are there any ex TVR owners here by chance? I'm coming from a T350 that's going in a week. I'm definitely having trouble letting go but think Z4m is a good move.
 
So I'm settled on a roadster. Test drove one today and Im pretty sure I'm going to pull the trigger.
One question though.
Are BMW warranties worth considering? 1400pa for comp cover seems excessive. Are the other warranty options worthwhile or is 3rd party cover good enough, I.e. Warrantywise etc?
 
The owner of this car is my neighbour downstairs believe it or not. If you want to pm me your details I'll try get her in contact with you. I've told her previously that that advert is a bit of a joke imo and I fully agree with you, I'd want to speak to the 'real' seller.
It's a good car, I've tried to come up with a scenario to buy it and store, alas I can't make the storage fees work.

I got one for piece of mind but I'm going to take it in for a major checkup next spring before cancelling. @ £1400 It is a lot of money though

I really fancy sticking an exhaust and eventuri on mine and you can't mod the car in any way.

Can't speak for any other type of warranty.

What do you mean by that though? I'd say probably the best reason to have a warranty is if you discover big engine problems as that's what's most costly. An inspection I or II service should reveal any potential problems with cams when they do the shiming (assuming bmw actually do the work on an inspection service, it's not unheard of them not to bother if it 'sounds fine''), but if you want to pay bmw to have a look at the rod shells and crank (which is what you should be looking at also if you really want piece of mind and cancel your warranty) then you're going to be paying a fair bit of cash at their rates to do so. There's no real other way to check, oil analysis possibly.

Every thing I've heard about warranty direct etc. Is that they're not worth the paper they're written on.

Well if you were worried enough to take out a warranty in the first place I'd consider checking further than some spotty bmw 'tech' telling you the engine sounds 'fine' before cancelling your warranty imo. At the very least get it to a specialist and get the rocker cover off to have a look at the cams properly.
Not wishing to scare, but I would consider this to be money well spent at the age these cars are getting to, and other forum members issues.
£1400 a year is a bit ridiculous though in a car like this, assuming the engine is sound...

Eta: thinking I might gave missed some sarcasm, wouldn't be the first time! I'm sure you know what you're doing.
