As I understand it a standard Z4 has run flat tyres. The Z4M however (as I'm sure you already know!) has normal tyres, but rather than having a spare wheel for when you get a flat, you get a pump and a bottle of sticky goo which is supposed to seal the puncture from the inside out. My question is this... To adjust tyre pressures on my Z4M I've been doing it at my local garage which charges £1 a go. Now don't get me wrong, I'm reallyno fussed about a quid, bit I was just wandering if its actually possible to use the supplied pump to check the tyre pressure and top it up here and there without attaching the goo bottle thingamee-wotsit?

BTW to the OP - Just get yourself a portable pump for 20-30 pounds at any garage supply store - saves the fuss of getting at the BMW M Mobility unit. I keep a can of inflataseal in the back in the case of blow-out - by the time I get at the BMW supplied unit and figure out how to use it I'll be on a flatbed

Whichever way you look at it, soccer, football, rugby they all consist of groups of men chasing each other around a field after a plastic/leather ball! If watching loads of men chasing each other up and down a field is your thing, then that's fine.

Getting back on thread you can of course use the pump to inflate your tyres. I'd not rely on it's little crappy gauge (I have one of the ///M kits myself and it's way off), nor those at filling stations that get abused.

My logic was it's in a neat container (pump and sealant) and should it fail to do the job I'd be better positioned to demand recovery from the AA/RAC carrying OEM than a can of Halfords tyre weld...
Totally off topic here I know but just thought I would share jump into the Rugby/A Football debate...
I have played both on a regular basis, first rugby and then A football. I am British and as much as it kills me to say it A Football is by far the rougher sport. They justify their padding trust me, lol.

By the way, I was told that once you use the Glue of the mobility kit to seal the puncture you will no longer be able to repair the tyre. Is this true?
I had a puncture few days ago and as soon as i hear the puncture I pulled over in order to save the tyre wall from being damaged. But I was reluctant to use the mobility kit (glue + pump) to recover my car in order save myself the need of buying the expensive new tyre. Downside of this is I have to wait hours for RAC to toll my car to the garage. Goodside of this is that I was able to fix my puncture for £16. The tyre is good as new now.
But if I could actually use the mobility to temporarily repair the puncture myself witout damaging the tyre, then I can just do that next time and drive my car to the garage to repair the punctured tyre properly.. Thoughts?
