Nice one Fabz......

As a man thats looking for a car, what do you think of them prices? Baring in mind that even at their retail suggestion, you couldnt currently buy one at that price..

What prices does it come up with for coupe ?

Oooooo . don't upset yourself Gary :) the coupes are bound to be holding their values far better
Pity the 5 on offer wasn't a tourer ? maybe more use to you for the dogs ?

I think that CAP is pissed to be honest, I know Glasses guide will be more, it always is when it comes to higher end cars.

I used to be a car buyer, and I know most garages will show you cap prices when they want to buy your car or take it in PX and show you Glasses when they sell.

I looked to a 2006 Z4MC Coupe with 36k miles yesterday and CAP said:
£14750 retail
£11350 clean
£10550 bottom

Im not upsetting myself Andy..... Just like to know the comparison..

It seems the coupes seem to bring around £2k more than the equivalent roady, just wondered if the "trade" saw it the same..

Do you have direct comparison Fabz....ie...same mileage..?

Yes...

Coupe and roadster with 50k miles on a 07 plate...

Coupe
£15295 retail
£12900 clean
£11200 bottom

Roadster
£13095 retail
£10850 clean
£9225 bottom

Not to offend or be smart but the coupe for me has a rarity value on the road ,is styled way above its current value & to the untrained eye very hard to put a finger on just what the car is or costs ?
The roadster has been around in non M guise for 10 years now & the world has got used to seeing them . The uninitiated would be hard pushed to spot the differences between the early Z's & the later M' versions £10k or even more apart in price  .

Yea,..

I get it....

But Non M coupes arent holding up really well...... There are loads way under 10k now,Only a couple of years ago they were all 15k+...

I do think the Coupe is a nicer car on the eye,but without the S54 i wouldnt have either...

Cheers Fabz..........

Looks like the trade see's the difference at 2k as well...........

If you happen to spot a 2007 50k coupe at £11000 will you send me a PM..

Yes I will PM you a picture of it on my drive :driving:

Between bottom and clean is what a garage will pay at an auction or px depending on condition, some dealers will go above clean for the right car they know will sell easily. Like a diesel 4x4 in December with leather and FSH.

CAP normally raise the price of the roadsters in the summer, most soft tops will increase, I have no doubt yours will too.

Only the high milers or quick sellers, good spec, low mileage cars can still fetch 12-14 privately and more AUC

My car is the same spec as yours but with standard springs and freshly refurbished standard alloys.

I advertised the car for 5 weeks on here and Pistonheads Nov-Dec and didn't get a single enquiry. It was priced at the bottom of the market when comparing to similar cars - £12,490 at the time.
I considered dropping the price, but if it was already the cheapest and the advert was decent, then I can only assume that there were no buyers around.

I'll either try again in March, or keep the car for another year - I can't see a decent M dropping much below £9-10k for some time.

Unless you need to sell the car now, hold off until the weather gets better!

Good advice Jim...

Like i say i dont "need" to get rid of the car,but when a serious offer is forwarded you have to consider it..

I started the thread as i didnt know if i was underselling the car,and whether mods and good spec really means that a good price could be achieved..

i guess i now know the answer!.......

What's the next service due on yours - oil or Insp 2 ?

Just checked.......

Last service was Inspection 2 in August 2011..Around 10k ago,but like i say i changed the oil around 6 months/1800 miles ago..

Not bad, so actually as far as the history is concerned, and standard maintenance, next service is an oil service. A strong selling point

Old thread, few months old. I sold my M 1.5 years ago (Oct 2011) to Herminator on here. Think for £13200 in the end, might have been £13,100.

Looking on the trader just and prices are the same, if not stronger. Seems M prices have definietly firmed up as I paid £16,700 in the Summer of 2010.

Could be time of year too..

Spring/summer are the traditional selling/buying time for cars so the prices bounce..

I sold my Z4M roady for 12k in the end..... It was a fair price,i might have got more if i held out for a month or so but when you have a man with cash, you have to take the offer seriously...

Looking to buy another?

To be fair at £13,200 it had some impending bills coming up, but other than those known running costs it has been a nice low depreciation car for me.
I'd probably take an offer of £13k for it now, so I can swap to a coupe which would be a little more practical for me at the moment.

Yea I agree the cost of 2 new tyres and an upcoming Insp 2 would also affect the price. No not looking, but was browsing and interested to see what prices were like at the mo. Seems they are fairly static and a good buy. Glad you are still enjoying it, I test drive a coupe and they are a tad more practical but not massively so.

I've still got the Supercharged VX and the Golf, likewise the VX hasn't really depreciated. Having said that I've spent a fair bit on it to get it how I want it. Recently full respray and retrim. :D

It's shocking how far prices have fallen for these cars over on your side of the pond. That car would be a solid $26k car over here in the states. Clean, low-mileage examples are routinely over $30k.
