Z4M-2006

Ok chaps...

I have been made an offer on my car that involves a small px...

What is my car worth....? I dont want top price, just a realistic valuation.

2006 Z4MR...

Black Sapphire with Imola red leather
Pro Nav
Pro Audio with DSP
Folding mirrors
Carbon leather
Bluetooth
60k with FSH
3 owners
Wind deflector
Extended storage
19" CSL style wheels
H&R springs
12 months MOT
5 Months tax

Car is in lovely condition, front bumper is stonechipped but car is going in next week for front to be painted so should be mint..

The car i have been offered is 2001 BMW 530i sport with 123k.. Good history and 9 months MOT and 5 months tax. Topaz blue with black sport leather, full nav and 6 CD changer.

What do we think my car is worth as an outright sale and in Px with 530i ?

TIA...

I was going to say 13.5k depending on what condition seats are in, how much life the brakes, discs and tyres have in them and how long it is until the next service.

Just to add that detail..

Front brakes 50% worn
Rear discs and pads new 2k ago
Rear tyres 7mm
Front tyres 4mm

Next service 10,250 miles..

New Bosch AGM battery with 6 years warranty

Between £12k and £13k.

Seems about right to me, probably closer to 12 than 13.
Either that or I'm undervaluing mine but that would mean it's not depreciated in the last 17 months :|

I will let it run a bit longer then say my bit...

Also...No views on what deal should be with 530i involved?

Private should be around £13-14K in an ideal world.

Realistic around £12.5K taking into account the present market.

I would value at BMW 530i at around £1.8-2.0K.

To change he would have to give you around £10.5K minimum!

Hmmmm.....Thanks for the views..

Food for thought...

Next question............................

So,if my Z had crap spec(No Nav,no folding mirrors etc),was a crap colour combo, poor service history and had standard wheels, suspension and the stonechips were left untouched what would it be worth then ?

Its all hyperthetical of course, but very interesting...

Well it would be a more around the 10K spot maybe less, I would have thought.

No one in their right mind would buy an M with poor service history, that with no spec, an unpopular colour and in a poor state you would be lucky if anyone would buy it I think. The only saving grace in that situ is that it hasnt done many miles.

Like Mine! :D

I only have heated seats and CD changer. Good colour combo, BMW service history/ Warranty and condition though!

I have been offered £9.5K against a 06 £18k Cayman.

What could I buy that stands comparison for that?

Fair comment Tom...

This is where i find it interesting....... You cant buy a Z4M in any condition/colour/spec etc for that money though... Or even £11,000....

£12k is about the minimum price if you want to buy one,or that seems the cheapest in the country i can find....

So.....Is it worth getting great spec/chosen colours/CSL's/Suspension/great history etc etc etc if when its time to sell its only worth as much as all the bargain basement stuff ??

Edit........ But Wozz, what was your buying price ? Bare in mind your getting offered £9.5k,but it would go on forecourt between 12-13k ??

my two cents for what it's worth - if i saw your car on autotrader/ph for 12 i'd be very interested in viewing it, and i dont have the money to buy this month, nor do i want a roadster.

Dealers are always tight but i think at 13k your car wold be one of the cheaper ones on the web and likely get a lot of interest, as a buyer im all for low prices but dont sell yourself short! PX tends to be a good deal only when the dealer has a random make/model that they dont want/wouldnt normally sell, and are willing to throw away for cheap.

Well the deal was £10,000 cash and the 530i sport...

I wouldnt want the 530i so i would have to move it on,but could be used as a cheap px... I have had E39's before and there an excellent car,but too long in the tooth now..

I think £11,000 and the 5 series for my car would tempt,or i guess just leave it a few months and put the car up for sale in spring when the sun comes out for £12.995 ??

Not sure Bing, will have a look..

I have also changed the oil and filter myself when i bought the car. Used Castrol TWS motorsport and genuine filter. I just wanted to "be sure" its was done properly, instead of some 17yr old gimp in a BMW boilersuit..

Well now is possibly the worst time to try and shift it too. Convertible with this weather.

Dealers will always give you sh*t offers. I was offered 7k for a car I bought 18 months previous for 14k managed to get nearly 9k for it and they sold it for 13k a week later.

Most will be priced for haggling so £500 or so.

Depends how desperate you are to get rid really if you wait someone will buy. I think its a fair price at 13.5k. Its a tough one, cars with no spec are even harder to get rid of because people expect all that spec with it being an M.

People will only pay what they are willing. But if the car in the flesh is as good as you say it is then I wouldn't see any problem selling it. Get an ad put up on here, perfect spec black with red leather is probably one of the most popular. If only it had a roof... ;)

Ha ha.... Then it wouldnt be so cheap....

Im not in a rush to sell, but with the offer being forwarded its always worth considering...

My plans were always to sell in the springtime and get something else..

CAP sees a Z4M Roadster 2006 with 60k miles at:
£11550 - Retail
£9300 - Clean
£8000 - Bottom
I don't have an option to add sat nav etc...

Glasses guide will be higher but I don't have access to that.

CAP also tells me the same car has only depreciated around £500 in the last year.

Nice one Fabz......

As a man thats looking for a car, what do you think of them prices? Baring in mind that even at their retail suggestion, you couldnt currently buy one at that price..

What prices does it come up with for coupe ?
