Z4M Modifications - poor quality pics

Shame you're miles away or I'd certainly offer to take you some pics for a chance to have a look around it.

Who did the seats? Looks smashing.

Also, retro fitted electric folding mirrors? That's seriously impressive! What was needed for that?

Looks great  - folding mirrors, where did you manage to get them done and for how much? My Inty doesn't have them and it's something that I've always wanted but didn't think I could get retrofitted!

I found a set on ebay last year , you need the drivers door switch that come with power fold door mirrors and has the extra button on it that's needed to operate the folding. I left the rest to my Indy, details below. I can't remember the cost of fitting as i had all my mods done in one go but i paid 350 for the mirrors with the switch. I'm not sure if there is a control module needed as it was so long ago but perhaps give Peter a call on the number below he is very friendly and has just completed mine so will be fresh in his mind.

Thank you I appreciate the offer and wish I was nearer you, I really do think the pics are seriously sub standard the car really does look amazing ' in the flesh ' hopefully there will be someone nearer me and if not then I might just drive down to your neck of the woods one day

I also had cruise control fitted which I forgot he'd done for me

As with jonny Essex though, check with your upholsterer regarding the airbags in the door cards and them functioning correctly.

I don't think an upholsterer is qualified to make that call. It's a valid point that I didn't think of when I got my seats and door cards done last November. I know that Jonny got his seats etc done from Paul at Trimstar too.

In regard to the airbags my understanding is that the original door panel has the insert riveted into the door card with a lot of plastic rivets which make it extremely secure and seems as if they have seriously over done the riveting but this is because of the seam in the original insert. Once the air bag deploys the upper and lower section must remain securely in place, this just shows the force when deployment takes place.

Having removed the insert the upholsterer re covers the insert and then glues it back in, rivets are no longer in place lost during removal. In effect the whole panel is actually only held on by glue which then leaves it vulnerable to being pushed off by the airbag, you could pull the insert off using your hand strength.
In simple terms what i'm saying is that in the event of a deployment of the door air bag in my car or Jonny's the insert would be pushed out and pushed forward like a flap only being retained by the door release and door handle.

Having said all this I do feel that this point has been raised quite correctly and I am sure will help others to make a well informed choice not just based on aesthetics. This in my opinion is the benefit of forums and to that end thank you srhutch  Respect :hattip:

Very nice, did you keep the leather / carbon dash?

It's still at the Indy's a customer of his said he would give 200 for it but indy said hold on they are quite sought after ??

Yeah they have gone on here for £300 / £350 but I believe you'll get more on eBay.

Certainly not £200

Top man DPG  I will look into it, could do with recovering some pennies

I sold mine to 2dogs for 350 which was cheap.

Put it on here for sensible mine and it will sell easily, very much in demand.

I will check the pieces to make sure they are in good condition which they were, what would you suggest is a fair price then ? £400 to a forum member ?

Very good place to start. The set I sold had once little nick in the dash part, but easy to fix.

Got the trim set today, all pieces are unmarked, so I will take some pics and put them on here first and ebay thereafter if there isn't the interest. I saw a post that stated the set costs over a thousand pounds from BMW :o :o . Thanks for the advice
