Z4m iphone 4s will not see Cars Blutooth :(

Lo guys,
I can't for the life of me get my iphone 4s to detect my cars blutooth :(
it says searching for phone but the phone doesnt detect any device...
I read somewhere that some blutooth devices in the early z4ms wont detect iphones is this true or am i missing something?

Mine's a Sept 2006 model and works fine.

Do you get the 'activating' phone screen or does it just go straight to 'searching for phone'?

I'm not with mine at the moment so don't have access to the pairing instructions.
 
I've connected my iPhone 4S to car's bluetooth. Someone advised me to ensure the dealer got me the code and then when I went to collect the car he set it all up for me :D Sorry thats not massively helpful.

My 07 (non M ) works fine .Try clearing all previous pairings at car end .Are using the manual for instructions
not a process you can guess
 
I just had this exact same thing, it turns out when it says searching it's only looking for a phone it's already paired with. If you follow the instructions to the letter they tell you to hold the voice activation/bluetooth switch in the cubby hold/armrest for three seconds with the key in position 0, then keep holding and turn to position 1 and hold for 3 secs then release. It should then begin pairing and you enter the passcode.

Thast worked for me, but only because I flaked it at the time. someone on here sent me a PDF of the manual afterwards.

cheers guys i will keep trying then...
I'm pretty sure it just says searching for phone so maybe I haven't got it to search for mine yet but just stored ones...
will try again and keep you posted.
 
Mine works fine... took about 10 minutes of on and off on the ignition to get it into pairing mode... then had to repeat the pain when i got my 4s a year later :headbang:
