Where is the upto date crash list?
How many coupes and roadsters have been crashed (insurance total loss)?

After finding evidence of a crash when my car was fairly new. Just Makes you wonder how many cars have climbed lampposts and been repaired without going through the insurance

If it's not been recorded a written off, how would you know if it had been in an 'almost write off' accident (like mine for example) that has been repaired by the insurance company with genuine parts versus an undeclared accident repair using 2nd hand, pattern parts?

Does a HPI check show this?

A hpi doesn't show this. It would take a trained eye to notice if a car had been in an accident whether or not it's been repaired by the insurance or not.
The biggest give away is white powder between panels and in crevices. It gets everywhere.

I'd be amazed if a dealer/seller wouldn't just put that down to "polishing dust" too. Like you say, very difficult to tell.

does look good, I'd booking a viewing for that tbf. We'll see how long it stays on.

number 36 is even advertised with coolant light on.. not surprised it gets no interest.

Minor damage, 5 years ago, on a sub-50k mile Z4MC would not have been a cat D write off...serious documentation would be required to prove what the damage was and what was replaced (and who the professional was).

Mine with 'significant' damage of £10k (on a car valued at £14.5k) wasn't written in December 2015 - but the professionals who repaired it are a bunch of cowboys, and I've finally fixed all things they fucked up (e.g. relocating the rear brake pad sensor socket from the splash guard to the inside of the bolted on wing; adjusting the non-working handbrake by 'clipping' the handbrake cable in a loop rather than adjusting it from the adjuster near the lever; driver's door with a 1cm drop when opened; intermittent central locking on driver's door; etc.).

I wouldn't recommend a bodyshop that rhymes with Fookers, as after 3 months of complaining, they washed there hands of it and told me to deal directly with the insurer.

That's my old car. Was gutted to see it go but i fancied a change.
Right, car was great when i owned it. The repairs weren't documented unfortunately and i admit i took a risk when i bought it from a garage but all looked straight and it drove well. Any questions, drop me a pm.

Did the car sustain impact to 1 turret? The drivers side looks slightly out of shape. Either turret has moved or the panels are not lined up correct. Mind you the front of these cars are like putty. I ruined my front end pushing it out the bush this morning lol

It could be two very similar cars, similar age & mileage, and similar accident damage - just 3 years apart?

MV08 looks like it was written off in 2015.

According to the MOT history, YG08 had 35,658 miles on it at it's MOT in 03/16.
It also has MOT history up to the March 2018 - and the accident in the news report was in Sept 2018.
