A Gallardo - or actually probably the Aventador now - evokes feelings (to me) similar to my desire for a Z. I just want one. Always have, always will.
Compliments on the Braveheart quote- brilliant!

Not deliberate I can assure you - must be my inner Mel trying to break free

Fab photos, just a hobby or are you a professional?

To everyone else, look how nice that Z4 dash looks without the Sat Nav. Purity at its best. :poke:

Youve got a point that dash looks much better without being interrupted by a sat nav!

I think this is a tough call as I love the idea of an R8, mid engined, V8 engine, would it somehow feel more special than my z4m, I don't know?

Interesting to read OP feels the z4m is rawer and more untamed. That is a big plus for the z4m in my book!

What resolution are you thinking? The larger ones I posted of the zed are 1300x +

Let me know what photo you like and I'll post one up

i have to admit, i do love my z4 and I've never driven an M, but I would take the r8 any day, regardless of speed etc i just think it is a much better looking car

although im not a fan of the gearstick in the r8

I particularly like the pics at the top of page 1 and top of page 3. They have been scaled to scaled to 929×572. Cheers.

if you want them scaled to the smaller resolution you can actually resize them yourself. i thought you wanted them larger...if you dont have a program to decrease the size i can gladly do it for you.

8) Quality photo. Two beautiful cars, definatly prefare the look of the Z even with a roof.

:driving: So is the R8 much quicker?
I have done a sprint against a R8 4.2 V8 and it was a close call, but the 0 - 60 time is a little quicker on the R8... It also has 80Hp more, so that's normal. On a track it is hard to say which one is faster...

If we are talking R8 money there are a lot more exotic cars in that bracket, the R8 blends in too much. Like I said too clinical, IMHO it does not epitomise the 'supercar' and at that money it should. I would have a Lambo any day over one, just more exotic.
Audi R8 4.2 V8 is about double the price of a Z4M and a Lambo Gallardo is way more expensive then a Audi R8 4.2 V8... Strange comparisons made in this topic. Would I trade in my beloved Z4M roadster for a manual Audi R8 V8 spider... Yes I would! A faster, more expensive car...for the same money...why not! But that is not realistic and never going to happen. Would I buy a Audi R8 V8? No; in that price range there a more exiting cars for my taste...

If it was my money; I would get something more track orientated like a Porsche GT3 on the side instead of an R8 V8. The main reason is that I really started to like track days and If I buy another car I has to be more track focused. I have driven a Audi R8 and is feels a little to clinical... I had somewhat the same feeling with a GTR. Very fast and efficient; but for me it feels more as driving a fast computer, then a really involving car. That's what I like in the Z4M; the back to basics set up and really involving drive... If it was illegal to have more then one car; then a Audi R8 spyder would make a good compromise between fast road car, track car and sun car.... But wait; my Z4M is already exactly this type of car; but at halve the price of a R8 spyder 8)

Had a chance to compair sraight line speed with a couple of R8 V8's since this was posted and it's mightly close. Do love the look of the R8 spyder.
