oh man, tough tough day...
the rear wings on this car are TOTAL nightmare , the top flat section to the near 90 degree side section meant putting the film through hell ( then needing to get round sections like the ariel, fuel cap cover etc, but its on... ( if it stays on is another thing

) so at this point the 95% of the car is now covered in PPF film , ive got some small sections to do to the rear bumper, namely the side sections and into the wheel arch where the wheel kicks up stones etc . I wont be PPF covering the complete rear bumper as its simply not needed. I created a load section for the center piece and with the side pieces neatly added within the body lines this is all the protection i need on the rear bumper. To top it off my son was suspended from school for a day for bad behavior which really threw my mood tbh and out of character for him.
I stood back and looked at the car and although the PPF isnt perfect ( they never are ) im happy with the standard of work even more so when you consider i made 80% this ON this car lol.... Any patterns available for this car are basic and aren't great so it needs real skill and patience to get right and alter things to get a decent finish. The car will be put back together tomorrow and then it will do its magazine shoot , then.... it will be serviced, then its going to Donny!
here's some pics from today in no particular order.
Notes
*fuel flap cover was plotted as i simply cant free hand a circle this good...
*i extended the side skirts slightly so it wraps round the front edge , also note the actual plastic from the factory is rather wavy

bmw QC wasnt great but again, nothing is perfect.
*the rear wing with the ariel has a plotted hole i then pain stakingly worked the wing down starting with this hole, lol! it took a solid 2 hours.
*The car looks dripping wet with gloss, really nice to see.
*PPFing a total z4m is nothing short of hell.
Tomorrow will see the wheels being ceramic coated inside and out, tyres dressed, ill then go over all the edges with a heat gun.
