Z4M Front Suspension

I have my car up on axle stands at the moment while the wheels are being refurbed.

The suspension is free and relaxed so is fully extended.

I noticed when I had my head inside the wheel arch last night painting the brake callipers that the gaitor over the shock absorber had come off the mount at the bottom. I then checked the other side and that one had come off both top and bottom.

I haven't had a good look yet but I don't think they are ripped, they have just come away from the connection points.

Is this a common problem, has anyone else had this issue and if so how do I reconnect? :?

It normally just fits loosely over the shock.

It probably just looks 'too short' because the cover is only meant to protect the shock when it's in use and under compression. When it's up in the air, at it's full extent, the cover isn't doing a lot.

Thanks for the info.

Both sides are different. The drivers side is connected at the top so when compressed there should be a connection to stop dirt and damp getting in.

May not be a problem as you say but I'm pretty sure that something has come off and needs re-connecting.
