Hi everybody,First time poster here Been browsing the forums for a few weeks,
Aquired a Grey/Silver 3.0i SE 2003 model and love it
Only thing i'm shocked by is the ride on 17in alloys ...these run flat tyres are terrible...deffo switching over to normal type when there worn

Just wondering if this is a simple bumper swap?I notice that z4m don't have fog ligths,Will my standard kidney grills fit? And mesh? Or these have to be M ?

Thanks,

The bumper will fit straight on, as should the kidney grills.
If by mesh, you mean the lower grills, I don't think so.
You would loose your fog lights too.
You also need the lower ducting that comes with the M Bumper, where the fog lights would be on your bumper there is ducting to the brakes instead.

It has been done several times though and looks better than the Aero bumper IMO.

fits right on. ive looked into one Z4 for sale which after some cosmetic damage had all front replaced with Z4m parts (hood, bumper). Straight fit.

Cool doesn't sound toooo complicated...looks like a worthwhile mod guys :D

Thanks for the the advise. How much should i be looking for pay for a front z4m bumper? Mint one? £300? There's seems to be loadsa damaged ones..im looking at a cracked one.. dunno how much plastic welding can be done by my local spray shop... Or is plastic welding out of the question for these certain bumpers?

It is a fairly easy and straghtforward swap, but unfortunately you will lose your fog lights. The kidney grills and headlight washer covers are swappable, but new lower mesh and brake ducts will need to be purchased.

See my DIY here for detailed parts listing and installation instructions :)

minus front bumper and kidney grilles how much are the rest fo the parts required? i.e. lower grill, respray, etc...

I listed the approximate dealer prices for each part in the DIY. These are in $USD. The Grills I wouldn't image being any more than $100 - $130, but you could also decide to pick up an aftermarket set of blackout grills for less if you desire.

The Front bumper price will vary, depending on new or used condition. Brand new, I think it is $600 USD. You could probably find a used one for around $300, but if the damage is too severe then you may end up paying more to repair the bumper versus buying brand new.

Mine was used, for about $270. I ended up paying an addition $160 for repair and refinishing on top of the repaint cost. (scuffed fangs, slight warping, minor touch-ups). So this is something I would keep in mind when searching for a bumper cover.

I would not recommend getting a cracked one as you mentioned. The repair cost would likely exceed the value of the bumper in my opinion.

I've found a bumper for £145 which has a 2cm crack just below the headlight. They said they can fix this and respray it for an additional £175. with the lower grill i'd be looking at around £400 to complete the project, so that's around $650. Do you think it's a good price?
