Z4M For Sale - Info?

Hi All,

This is my first post here. I am based in Munich but am looking for a RHD Z4MR at the moment. I have been keeping an eye out on Pistonheads, Autotrader as well as here, and the following car has gathered my interest:

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201804075330335

Does anyone have any info on the car? The only thing that would concern me are the black alloys. However, I have checked the service history with BMW and I have a feeling that it has had a nasty meet with a kerb at some point.. a lot of the front suspension components were changed, and therefore the wheels probably painted black during repair.

Thanks!

Looks like a good example at a very tempting price - nice colour combination with the red interior, alloys can always be changed.

Questionable "lightweight" history .
Car was offered to another forum member at £14k but he declined as going forward it really needs a ins2 at a reputable place

Thanks for the quick responses. From the service history I see that the last inspection II was in 2014, but as you mentioned, not from a reputable BMW dealership.

Even if the inspections were only done 3 months ago I usually do a full service on the car myself once I have purchased one in any case. A problem is of course if the same oil has been "lingering" around for so long..although many miles were not put on the car in that period of time.

The catalytic converter was changed out last last year, bit strange for such low miles?

Hi Wolverine,

If you want a much better spec, 37k mile minter I’m selling my 2006 Saphire Black Z4MR. Full service history with running in service & 1170 miles.

Additions to standard spec are:

Sat nav
Cruise
Air bag delete,
Cup holders
10 speaker DSP
Electric folding wing mirrors
Dimming rear view and interior mirrors.

Zero scratches, dings, it’s a beauty. Mint, not a mark on them standard alloys with Michelin pilot super sport tyres.

Feel free to ask anything if it’s of interest.

Good looking example of a Black Z4MR, with a similar interior to mine too (now, it's just been e-trimmed :D )

If the OP is concerned about the parts replaced on the front suspension - might be an idea to dig deeper, for a lot more info, if this is the car your after.

It tickles me, when car dealers cover up the plates of the car your interested in, but in the AutoTrader Ad' images, there are other cars in the showroom - openly on display

Good luck with your quest for a Z4MR

Hi John, I never say never! Please P.M me with the info and how many notes you are looking for

Patience is a virtue when it comes to M cars.. took me 2 years to find my E46 M3 :D

In my honest opinion, any service history that shows it was at a main dealer may only mean that they spent a lot of money. It is far more valuable to me if it was serviced by a BMW specialist. I would not take my Z4MC to a main dealer .. EVER!!!

It looks a good car for the money....it's only £15k...not a lot of money to be lost at all in the scheme of things, if you can afford it then get one bought before summer comes. It's so funny when folk say that all BMW dealerships are useless....the people saying must all be ex-master technicians or engineers from Munich :headbang:

The only thing you won't get more of is time!

Don't need to be a master tech or bmw engineer to know when your car is serviced by a novice in overalls. It is highly unlikely the in-house master tech is actually working on your car as opposed to letting the novice loose on your car  As I said just my opinion, but based on experience

That dealership is round the corner from me. They have a lot of nice stock, but I can't comment on how good they are as a dealer as I don't know anyone who has bought a car from there.
