Z4M Engine rattle

Ok have owned the car now for about 6 weeks , the car is March 2007 with 13k miles . Have noticed a noise from the engine when you hold the engine at 3000 to 3250 rpm , this can be done with the vehicle stationary or dynamically.

Dealer is going to investigate .... nothing obviously wrong this morning when they intially looked a the car so its going back in for thorough check. Technician did express the view that he had heard this before and that did not think it was untypical of this engine.

Anyone comment on this please .

Is this like a background ticking noise ? I can hear that on mine and it seems most noticeable around those revs .... I think :D Car goes fine but 'ticks' :roll:
 
It's a rattle at 3000 revs, just the Vanos bouncing about :) Sounds like a badly adjusted cam. Not sure about ticking sounds :o
