Just wondering if anyone has a supersprint race exhaust installed( just the cans) and if its street legal or not..

There's nothing illegal about the exhaust, just the fitting & use of it :P

Even if your local MOT tester says you're fine, if you're stopped by BiB and they decide your car is too loud, then you can be handed a rectification notice/fine/car ASBO. The supposed limit is 82dB, but under 90dB will normally be fine - although that's up to the person testing the car.

MOT Manual said:
a silencer in such a condition, or of such a type, that the noise emitted from the vehicle is clearly unreasonably above the level expected from a similar vehicle with a silencer in average condition
In my case I make sure I take it easy in residential areas and only floor it on motorways/dual carriageways/rural roads, and coast if I see any BiB - although I don't think mine's unreasonably loud compared to some bikes/kit cars I've been on/in.

I got stopped 3 times when i first installed the RPIs and given warnings about the volume. Everytime i told them i'll swap it back to stock. That was 2 years ago.

If they stop again i'll just tell them it came like that stock. "It's a 3.2lt mate, they all sound like dis."

  Here in Holland they will not fall for that. They have the equipment onboard to measure.
