i understand what your saying, you must me a much better negiotiator than me i've bought 2 from AUC and didn't get near getting £1000 off, let alone more...

Got £3k off mine...but it was very overpriced!

It's just the time of year I think, when people start thinking about new starts etc for 2010, car sales pick up?

Best of luck with it

£25,250 to £23,995 is only a £1,255 reduction or 5%.

Not a big price drop over the course of 2 months, so I guess it really depends if you are serious about selling it, need to do so quickly or are happy to sit there waiting until the right customer comes along, the market firms or your small incremental drops cause the price to be attractive.

Good luck selling as it's a beautiful Zed and will be perfect for someone.

I don't think dropping the price really helps in attracting potential buyers. Your trying to sell at the worst time in the year (Nov - mid Jan) so will find the buyers are hard to come by even with a "relatively" reduced price.

My suggestion is hold tight till Feb/Mar/Apr when these things will start becoming desirable again, just like they did last year when you had cases of some buying in Nov-Jan and selling in summer for virtually the same price or in some cases more...... Let's face it, who wants to go out on a test drive in icy conditions let alone buy and drive it along an wet/icy country road.

If i had the cash, i'd offer you £21-22k then sell it on later in the year for £25-26k :) :) :) - that's the sort of customer your going to get between now and spring.

Just my opinion.

I know Pistonheads is not the be all and end all but none are shifting.
I want to sell mine now but it's really silly time of year to sell a sports car. Not only is weather rubbish but people are skint after Xmas and NY. Wait for their NY resolutions to wear off......... "I'm going to save money this year."

thanks guys, like i mentioned i'm not desperate to sell, but i would like to get it sold ;) what i mean is i'd sooner keep it rather than give it away!

what i'm concerned about is its the cheapest 57 plate car forsale in the UK and i've had very little serious interest, dealers want to take it for nothing (whats new?) and everyone else thats contacted me has a p/x they want top book for! i dunno if its just me but i always seem to be the one buying at top book and selling at bottom book lol

It's not the price, it's the time of year.

If any one was interested they'd come to see it and make you an offer. It's round about the right money compared to the rest of the market

You're not trying to attract the bargin hunters, so wait until the market picks up in general, unless you want to give it away

Good luck

Consider keeping it for a few more months (3-5) and it may sell more quickly as Spring/Summer approaches
Also, it could be down to your location. Some just don't want to travel although I've just noticed you're quite accessible.

Personally I wouldn't want to sell a performance car at this time of the year.

bttt - still forsale mileage now 23800

i might do a deal against a decent Z4M roadster... well if its gonna get relegated to second car i don't need the practicalitys of a coupe ;)

The way the weather has been lately that isn't actually a bad idea...I'm still struggling to get my head around your quoted MPG figures though. I have never, ever gone above 25 MPG. Can't say I've tried that hard though!

Mine sits at 28.5mpg, has done for the last 8 or 9k miles that I've owned it. I reset the econo gauge the day I collected the car. I don't cane it all the time, but it's nice to have the power available. Occassionally it drops to 28.2MPG and did for quite a while recently until taking it real easy during the recent icy conditions returned it back to 28.5MPG. I've also been carrying a boot load of weight around recently to lower the chances of me getting stuck somewhere.

I don't tend to do many short drives and I don't spend a lot of time in cities either although do of course get stuck in the odd traffic jam.

Wow, I'm just about managing 25mpg on my frugal 3.0si :D To be fair most of my driving is around busy town centre or couple of miles and stop kinda thing.

THink (if I remember correctly) I got around the mid 31's with the Si Coupe I owned before although I reset the econo gauge fairly often (every month or so to experiement) so never left it 8-9k miles like I have with the M. My guess is that the M is about 3MPG worse on fuel with my type of driving and the journey types I do.

MIne's got an all-time average of 25.9mpg for the 20,000 miles since I bought it in Nov/Dec 2008.

Mostly motorway (high cruising speed), track days (10-14mpg) and countryside blasts of 100-200 miles at a time (20mpg).

3mpg's difference is very good indeed! I would happily consider MC next if I can afford it.

Oh wait, the missus is pointing at her car and saying something about renewing and her turn next...... anyone have a clue what she's on about :P ?
