Z4M Coupe in Interlagos Blue

Hi All,

My first post, but been admiring the z4s in the community for a long time.

I'm in search of a Z4M coupe in Interlagos blue.
Preferably <70k miles.
Preferably no major mods (don't mind minor mods like air filters, coil overs or wheels :D )
Must have heated seats
Could have cruise control
Must have parking sensors
Must have full bmw/specialist Service history
Love it to have original tints and aero side skirt (but who am I kidding :P )

Interior preferably black but I know I can't be too picky.

I've seen a couple  on autotrader/pistonheads etc. But ones I've contacted are more or less sold. Hence looking to community here for a well looked after z4mc.

I'm in Manchester area, but happy to travel for the right car.

Budget: approx £22k

Thanks all

Amin

Welcome to the forum Amin.

Although Interlagos Blue was one of the more popular colours there were still only 145 MCs that colour registered in the UK so to find one that ticks all your boxes you probably will have to travel! But it's well worth it for an MC.

If it helps at all cruise control is a pretty simple retro-fit as BMW still sell the control stalk for just over £100 and there is a forum member who can make up the section of wiring loom for about £20 IIRC.

As for Aero sill covers - if only!

Thanks Mr Tidy,

Really helpful to know about the cruise control, at least that reduces one essential :D

I did miss out on this ac schnitzer z4m last year by a matter of minutes while sales rep sent video his manager had already sold it!! Grrr!! I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but thought it looked amazing.

Link below for anyone to admire:
It wasn't the colour I was originally looking for but was happy to compromise for the kit 😁

But hunt now on for interlagos blue...

Good luck with the hunt for one.
I spent 2 yrs looking for the right interlagos blue coupe with the interior and low mileage that I wanted.
They are out there somewhere but with only 144 Interlagos coupes it may take awhile.
Good luck.

Thanks Jon2215, if I get too impatient then I might expand my search to a black z4mc.

But in the meantime I'm hoping someone here might give me a heads up if they want sell theirs :-D

Part of the problem is likely to be the mileage as the youngest of them are now 13 years old so that's an average of just 5,000 a year!

This one looks like a good price and has the heated seats but no cruise (not a big problem) and no parking sensors but lovely bi-colour seats! Although my previous E86 had been retro-fitted with the sensors so it can be done if the car fits the bill in every other respect.

By way of inspiration here's a photo from our visit to the Ace Cafe last September!

Meetup picture with 4 interlagos looks amazing. Will keep in mind the bi colour one you mentioned.

I've seen one advertised in Aberdeen for £29k, but price is way out of my budget. But I can understand why they're asking for that as they're the owner since new with really low mileage.

I don't mind going higher on the mileage depending the usual history etc.

I'm thinking of being cheeky and calling a couple of the usual z4 traders to see if their previous clients want to sell theirs?

Might this one fit the bill?

Hi guys, I'm still on the hunt for an interlagos z4mc and need some advice.

Been looking at this low mileage (35k miles) 1 owner z4m on autotrader, before I put in an offer I need help on the following points.  It might just be me over thinking it but should I be concerned with any of the following?

- last service was 2017 (inspection 2) but no stamp in book but they have receipts.  Prior service was back 2010, only ever had those 2 services
- they only service it when hits the appropriate mileage?? So no service in last 5 years!!
- next service due is a inspection 1 (Another 4k miles away I think)
- cars never had an annual engine oil change (therefore no oil change in last 5 years)
- they only do about 5 miles maximum at anyone time, and she's never put her footdown - this worries me if the engine has ever been fully utilised (not that I'm looking for an ex-track car. Lol)
-  last mot found some oil leak (they said it was rocket cover)
-  they've also had the entire car resprayed recently (I've been previously told this could devalue the car? As original paint wasn't stripped prior to respray not sure how true that is)

Thanks in advance.

That is an uncared for car that has rarely got up to temperature by the sounds of it.

Some steps you should take, giant ones in the opposite direction imo.

Thanks for the prompt reply Scubaregs.

My brother was of the same opinion and highlight all those issues. Hunt goes on...

Thanks for the other forum link Mr Tidy.

+1

It takes a lot more than 5 miles before my MC is properly up to temperature, unless it's in stop/start traffic which also does it no favours!

That car's not far from me, as you say though, service history seems to be not ideal.

I was tempted to put in an offer, not sure how much they budge from 29k. I am put off by the service etc. And i dont want to fly up there only to be disappointed by paint job, as pictures and videos wont pick up any imperfections that easily.
