Z4M Brake Service Indicator

Hi folks,

I'd like to verify when the last brake fluid change was carried out on my ///M (not that I don't trust the stamps in the service book :) ). Is there a brake service indicator in the hidden menu somewhere or would I expect to see a reminder as I approach the two year interval?

Thanks,
Rob

As far as i'm aware there's no notification in the car, the only real indicator i think is service history (BMW now have funky devices where they scan your key and tell you your history.. ie when it was last done), and any receipts you might have.

FWIW i just had Insp1 and brake service done, 1 month after it was due (due to xmas period), and interestingly got no warnings.

It should tie up the the time based indicator on the dash. (Little clock symbol that appears when time based service is due)

Thanks for the feedback guys. So it would appear there are variances in the way this is displayed, if at all. Will take a closer look.

Hey Rob
It should be changed every 2 years buddy
Walk in Park to do
I asked for it to be done on my mega early insp2 at 10k on clock
Cost me £50
I have a brake fluid thingy if ever wanted to do it?
As I'm only the other side of aylesbury
Just a case of fluid and jacking car up

Thanks for the offer Marc, good to know there is another local enthusiast willing to help out  . Having my brakes checked next week anyway so am going to get the fluid done at the same time as a precautionary measure.

Always welcome buddy
Glad getting sorted :)

I would just pop the cap and look. Hit it with a light, if it's light yellow/clear and looks clean, most likely it was changed. There is an auto bleed procedure if you know someone who has a higher end scanner. I used ithe procedure and changed to super blue racing fluid. It just has a higher boiling point. But two years is generally the longest.
