I'm in the process of trying to retrofit the aux input on my Z4M using the complete factory fitment aux input panel below the heater controls, including socket and wiring.
My car has Nav, Hifi, Bluetooth and CD changer. No DSP.
I have added the aux connector wires to the black connector on the back of the radio/nav unit....pins 3, 4 and 10 and per all online instructions. However the AUX is not displaying as an option once everything is reconnected. I have checked, re checked and rechecked again. Everything is correct.
If I'm using the factory fitment cable and not the retrofit cable, do I need to code?
As I noticed that there was talk of cables requiring the 300k ohm resistance between the two speaker channels, which I do not seem to have - perhaps this was not required in factory fitment options and instead coding activated the aux option.
I've already fitted a bluemusic in place of my CD changer, so this retrofit is somewhat redundant but my bluetooth to 3.5mm jack supports LDAC which the bluemusic does not, and it made quite a noticeable difference to the sound quality in my E92 withthe Hifi system. So please do not direct me to installing a bluemusic instead - as I already have this.
