Z4M Air Intake Options / Benefits / Problems?

Apologies I was under the impression he did for some reason. In that case, I'll PM eventuri to get mine on the dyno with a GruppeM and Eventuri comparison for the same car/dyno/day etc.

As i said, this issue is the manufacturer of one of those also owns the dyno you're running on.
It'll still deemed to be inconclusive, in my eyes at least.

Without spending thousands of quid you really ain't gonna make an S54 more powerful or responsive ...stop chasing horsepower, spend the money on suspension, set up and tyres, you will be so much quicker than the extra horsepower equivalent money wil buy you...

Very true. Though the extra noise is nice.

I understand your point, but I think your protests are misplaced. Nobody here is chasing horsepower, just trying to understand the differences between Gruppe and Eventuri. This is all about noise, but I don't want noise at the expense of making my car lumpy and unsmooth.

Exactly, I have bought mine for the noise alone.

I will give you a hand if you want to finish the job within a year

Car has been in hibernation since I bought so no need to fit. Inspection 2 on the 19th so will fit after that.

It's not a protest Steve nor do I see it as misplaced,,,,there's plenty of talk in the thread about power increases, dyno print outs as well... and also there's talk of disappointment in the power gains if any given by this modification,,,,my point is simple ...if you want to go quicker equivalent money spent on suspension set up and tyres will be money better spent

Sure, I understand your point, and there has been talk, but I don't think anybody has, or will mention buying one of these intake for the sole purpose of going more quickly.

Dynos are fairly important though, I wouldn't go for an aftermarket intake if it significantly reduced HP and torque at the lower end of the rev range for example, as I said, I don't want / expect / care about power gains, all I want is a nice intake growl without hampering the way the car drives. :driving:

Just going to jump start this thread.

I've been sat on the fence between GruppeM and Eventuri, Reason induction noise and a bit of engine bay bling. Having read loads of threads on here, M3 Cutters and PH. The price swung it for me, especially with the 40% offer. Which makes a £1k item really affordable and "feels" like I'm getting a bargain!

I'm fully aware that unless an induction system is paired with a Ma and upgraded exhaust the power gains will be minimal, and probably not noticed by 99% of us.

Just hope it sounds good! I'll add some photos to my thread.

Ah right ok. They're meant to be better than the Eventuri then?

I'm not sure, I don't think a non OEM filter / system will give much power gain over the OEM system unless it is done in conjunction with ECU mapping, exhaust system etc.

I just want some engine bling, and induction noise. I went for the GruppeM as the 40% offered by a kind member on this forum made it similar price to the Eventuri.

But I'm sure someone with more Z4 knowledge will give you a better / more detailed answer.

I'll do a mini write up when it turns up....

Won't get any power gain with a Gruppe M or eventuri, I'll be quite pleased if it runs the same as before power wise

I had an eventuri on my e46 m3 which I sold a few months ago. I didn't buy it for power gains, but for noise.
But will now want one for when I get the z4m

Hi

Just looking for the 40% discount? Was this via GruppeM Direct / has it expired now? I'm still seeing 101k JPY!

Cheers
