think it was 14 cars on the saturday, and 16 cars on sunday if memory serves.
It ended with just 7 on sunday, experiencing probably the BEST drive of the entire weekend, once the rain had stopped, the sun had dried out the roads, all all but two of the sunday drivers had quit!

14 saturday and 18 sunday I think. Highlights were the Honister Pass on Saturday and the Buttertubs in the mist Sunday! The drive back to Crooklands Sunday was definately one for the committed driver 
I thought Batemans did OK with the coffee and biscuits. Nice for a dealer to participate in a club event.
Setting the pace especially in the wet is a difficult job, I really didn't want to go too quickly and have someone's bent car/head on my conscience. I know Craig had a near miss on Sunday. Hopefully we got the pace right and nobody felt too intimidated trying to keep up.
Already a demand to do the Hard Knot Pass next year. I'll tell Batemans they will need to clear the bodyshop for some repair work after that run!!

Highlights of the weekend:
Both the routes were fantastic and in particular the final hour or so of Sunday with the last few nut-case drivers... absolutely awesome stuff
John (Sammyz) somehow managing to get on to the subject of politically correct Trans-gender issues at work, completely oblivious to the fact that the lady sat next to him in the pub wasn't quite a lady yet :lol:
Playing silly-buggers with Ian (Sk93) on the dual carriageway bits trying to get the perfect passing-shot. Which I believe he may have done
Watching people's expressions as they talked to Craig3.0 and tried to work out what he was saying
Watching Trev's expression as we ate course after course of delicious well cooked food from our BBQ, while Sarah (?) insisted on warming his slowly on theirs
Phil (cj10jeeper), Craig, John (Siftah), Ian (Sk93) and John (Sk93's man-friend) offering to give me some alone time as I "Caressed and Massaged" my Z on friday night...
and a personal high-point; we actually passed the point where we scattered my granddad's ashes:
A petrol-head all his life, he would have approved thoroughly
With a few exceptions (sorry!) I think I managed a brief chat with most people. Once again, big thanks to Craig (hope you got home safe and weren't in too much trouble when you did) and John for their hard work. Best weekend I've had for a long time, definitely up for making it an annual thing! (actually up for making it a weekly thing!)

So here's an odd one.
On my way home decided no M6T for me and picked up the old A5. Road went from single to dual and a prat (well I thought so at the time) in a Corsa pulled out to overtake. He wouldn't move in so my big mistake was that I drew level and braked towards now changing stop lights stop lights ending up ahead. He immediately started flashing lights at me and wanted me to pull in.
Of course I'm not going to pull in for a Corsa for some sort of argument so drove off, but he passed me as I wasn't driving fast and cut me up flashing brake light and I could then and he passed see he was a uniformed officer. Pulled in immediately of course.
Bizarre thing was he hopped out as did I and told me it was an offence to undertake, apologised for not having any police signs or blue lights warned me about undertaking, then advised he's take no action or even check docs. I apologised for not stopping, but commented that such cars attract an element of bad habit and light flashing which he acknnowledged.
Got me thinking if an unmarked car with no blues even has the right to expect a motorist to stop??? Could be a nutter with a bit of car rage.

cj, I don't think he could do you for a traffic offence in an unmarked car unless it was specifically a traffic car but I stand to be corrected. There seemed to be no end of idiots on the road Sunday (us included!!!) A German van and two 4x4s really made it difficult to pass and didn't want to pull over despite holding up 18 cars!
Then on the way home some nutter in a Mondeo Estate was doing 65 in the outside lane on the M6 and refused to move over for anyone resulting in a load of undertaking at 70 mph +.

cj - if that were me, I'd probably have planted it thinking it was some nutter about to either ram me or get out with a knife (well, I do live around Manchester!). Would probably have landed myself in a whole load more trouble
There were some nuts around alongside loads of really helpful motorists too.
Corsa 'police' incident was an odd one and as oyu say Tweed I was ready to boot it into the distance on the grounds of not needing some car thief or road rager threatening me.
I too had a load of idiots on the M6 cruising in the outside lane with 200m before the next car, or undertaking 2 lanes at a time to gain 2 or 3 places in a constant 65mph line.
Most of the time I just laugh at them and carry on.

Finally came up on a bit of a twisty in a nice shallow valley with great visibility and enough room for both Siftah (who was the only one left after me) and I to take him on the inside, all sporty and stuff, and get in ready to take the next corner on the perfect line. I thought "ooh, this is going to be great!", dropped a gear, indicated and planted it. Numbnuts promptly swerves 2ft out into my path making both of us slam our feet on the brakes and fill our trousers.
Sadly, I keep my cabin free of clutter because I was looking for something to throw at the tw^t when I did finally pass him!
