Ps. Sk93: you wouldn't believe the amount of people who drove right up my chuff on the way home, trying to read the back of my car! Git! :x
C'mon, spill the beans for those of us who missed it. (Was it 'Wish my wife was this dirty", written in the muck?

I think it may have read something like "I wish it were Stirling Grey" (picture linked).

Really though, some people just didn't make an effort, turning up with dirty cars - I mean, Nick must have spent less than 12 hours polishing his car this weekend! I think one of us should have took him to a side and told him it doesn't matter how much he polishes, it's never going to be Stirling Grey! :)

Great weekend and home by 9:00, so I was happy. Apologies for my, our, tardiness, sorry I missed the Saturday only lot.

So's your filthy car mate. Standards, Tweed, standards. You letting the forum down with your shoddiness :P

Sorry, can only remember the names of half of the people there... John and Matt, was great to meet all of you

John, some good leading in difficult conditions, good route as always  Craig, thanks for organising.

Have watched Top Gear, now need some sleep. Will try and get some photos up tomorrow - action shots mostly... probably of the windscreen wipers.

Jealous? I distinctly remeber you asking: "If i make it really, really, shiney, can I come to the elite, Sterling Grey-only campsite?" ;) (It was quite funny - five zeds, all sterling grey, all pre-facelift, all bar one on 108s... and then PawnSacrifice turns up in the wrong coloured car; we only let him stay because of his really attractive, sexy, classy..... new exhaust. :P)

I'm creamcrackered and literally just got in, but thought I'd say I'm hope safe and well :)

I've got 2.8 million shots to go through, so I'll upload a few when I can :D

night night!

For the record... Tweeds car looked stunning all weekend, apart from that brief 10 minutes after the *very* high speed blast back home on Sunday evening through very bad conditions. That, of course, was our cue to take lots of pictures and wind him up :)

Having said that... it was held together with Duct Tape for the drive home!?!?!? :)

OK so a few different shots from the weekend:

More to follow in the week (if you want more?)

Hehe... Only one bit's partially held on with duct tape! Anyone know the part number for the panel covering the wiring along the underneath of the near side?

It may or may not have come into contact with the tarmac...

Channel cover, sounds like it, Cheers Ian... Ended, #*%* :(

Time to find a breaker... (in the morning)

Edit: ah, replaced by a newer part, a call to Bluebell in the morning :)
Now back to your regular scheduled thread...

try the dealers anyway.. there's probably a replacement part that's only listed for the facelift - they've got to support the car for ages, so they'll still make the part (or a suitable replacement)

a fly-by of tweed's shiny zed.
I have a tonne more, but this was the only one I got off the camera before the battery died :(
i'll have to sort and upload the rest tomorrow.

g'night :D

Lovin' the 'Tweed' fly by pic! And that should be 'duck' tape after the attention they paid to his car! :)

great to meet u2-next tm bring ur z!

I did miss driving, but was very patient being driven, I'd say! Had such a laugh camping and chatting with good company. Think your plate is really good, Paddy.

Sunday we had a bit of rain, but for my money it just made that fast blast over Butter Tubs even more fun - lots of arse-end slides and forboding, dramatic skies overhead.
Agree, and can I add to that - passenger's hands being rammed up against the sun visor, when holding onto a video camera or SLR, trying to catch good shots as a complete amatuer and hilly bits of roads are coming up at **MPH!!

Stopping to get the roofs up and down in-between down pours gave a chance for a quick breather and then another opportunity to hear a bunch of Z4's do the 0-60 dash and bounce of the rev limiter in... well, most of their gears ;)
So fun :). From what I could see, thumbs up for the sensible driving too.

Some highlights;..
- Spotting SK93 sleeping out in the open on the campsite at 4am (I checked for his wallet but he'd locked it in the car!)
- The rather nice police officer, who didn't arrest us, despite looking dodgy.
- Aebous's Whisky, which kept us warm long after the BBQ had gone out!
Just as well Ian wasn't at the other campsite - might have got pooped on by those pesky ducks!
- Gawping at the police, is that why we lost you, John??
Thank you Matt for whisky - it was great and helped me get to sleep comfortably!

Awesome shot, Ian! Can't wait to see the rest!

What's all this about a dodgy policeman?
We at the civilised campsite missed out on this tale, do tell!

you didn't hear? lol

It was Siftah's fault! Troublesome Mancs and all that!!

;)

We were walking back from "Ducksh*t Campsite" at some very early time in the morning (somewhere between 1am and 3am), and we happened to spot the E89 sat alone in the Hotel campsite, nicely lit by the sole streetlamp.
As it was rude not to, we decided to stop and take a quick snap with the phone.
So, Siftah knelt down behind the wall, whilst John and I stood "guard" behind him.

Out of no-where, a police officer rolled passed in his 4x4 and, upon spotting him, I said "Sh*t! It's the Rozzers!" whilst John and I turned our backs to him and flicked up our hoodys.
As you may expect, the copper decided it best to pull a quick u-turn and investigate what three guys in hoodies, with a "swag bag" full of beer were doing eyeing up a tastey motor.

He took a bit of convincing we weren't up to anything sinister, but I think Mr Siftah saved us by cleverly sauntering over to the side of the bacon wagon, with his swagbag swung casually over his shoulder, before leaning on the windowedge and saying "Evenin' Officer."

:)
