Hi I'm a new owner of E89 Z4 2.3SDrive 2.5 manual I'm trying to look after it so woundering on my next tank full of fuel is there anything I should put in the tank to just clean the parts on engine like injectors and Cat Ect so on I have super unleaded also at local station thanks :D
 
I buy a can of Redex when its on offer and put it in. No idea if it makes any difference or not just think its a bit of cheap maintenance that might help.

Thanks jim I just read a lot of people use BK44G ?? But just wondering if local halfords sell anything I can use or like you say Redex

REDEX Definitely works for me, saved me few £££ when I used to be a biker and had a dirty fuel issue and since then been using it on my bikes/cars.

As Jim said I just bulk buy when on offer.

Have used BG44K on my 645ci, can buy on Amazon for £23. Made no discernable difference.

I've also tried Redex and Catacleaner - neither really did anything (in various cars). I think the consensus is that they are all snake oil, largely just paraffin dyed red.

I guess for small change why not, even if just a placebo! My car always feels faster after a whole weekend of polishing and I'm fairly confident that is impossible ;)
 
Shell nitro must make a difference. I put that through ZZr1200 motorbike I had bought, but hadn't done many miles (3k in 10 years) and it shifted some gunk and blocked some carb jets! Needed a couple of strip downs to clear out.
I run a tank full of nitro now and then in the Zed just for the cleaning properties.
 
I agree with redex . I've also s 2.31 sdrive and possibly because I do too many short runs I'm convinced it makes a difference and on a decent run the m p g is greatly improved.
 
Those were the days, 3 gallons and a shot of Red X 17 shillings and sixpence to you sir, or in my BSA Bantam 1 gallon of two star and 2 shots of two-stroke oil. :thumbsup:
 
I just use super unleaded petrol from Shell ,BP and Esso and my Z4 seems to love it,growls and takes off like a bat out of hell.It has all the extras you need so why buy more stuff when you don't need to.You are already paying the extra in the price.It cleans and keeps the fuel system in top shape.
