Z4convertible top motor

Hi, looks like my top motor may have crapped out at 40 k. Dealer in u.s. say the part is 1600.
Getbmwparts part.com and bmwpartscenter have what appears to be the motor for about 340.
How can there be such a price difference. Is bmw dealer up charging? I don't want to order the motor and have it be not as expected. Anybody have insight into this or had there top motor die and fixed it with an ordered part.
Need help.... I could see 1600 for parts and labor but just the motor that's f'd up.

If you mean the convertible roof motor, it's a common fault. Had mine replaced last month, cost £700 all in (motor plus replacement at a BMW independent dealer - about 4 hours work). There is a guide on the forum to their replacement if you are confident enough. Motors can be bought for around £300.
