Z4C Si Sport - Alternatives

Looking at sports coupés between £10-12k. 7

What would be your choice?

As an alternative to the Z4C how about the Mk1 Audi TT Sport [240]?

If you went for mk1 TT you would get one for well under your budget 8)
Have you considered a 6 series ? more a GT but get the V8 & you won't struggle making it move & adaptive suspension makes them handle like a sports car :thumbsup:
 
Yeah you are in MK2 TT prices there. You can get good deals on the 3.2 V6 these days.

A MK1 TTQS will set you back 8 or 9k

As mentioned the price range is in Mk2 TT teritory, but the Mk2 TT's have been heavily criticised for being boring drivers, uninvolving etc.

The TTQS is a weight reduced (more track focused) TT, and appears to be a more involved/ exciting drive. For a TTQS with <60k mileage your looking at £10K+ prices. Anything lower than this price appears to be the higher mileage examples...similar prices to the Z4C.

Throw into the mix that the TTQS was a limited run (only 800-1000 I believe) and you get the exclusivity you would in the Z4C and presumably the lower depreciation.

From that perspective I see the TTQS as a viable alternative to the Z4C, but as a weekend toy, rather than daily driver.

Has anybody owned, or had any experience in a TTQS?

The 350Z is a great car and definitely an alternative, but I think the added depreciation of the 350Z takes it out of contention.
 
Yeah I borrowed a black one while my TT was in the garage for a week.

Certainly looks nice and like you say, it's exclusive.

Not as powerful as the Z4 but you do get Quattro and Pole Positions as standard (some specced standard seats like the one I borrowed).

I think it's the MK1 TT that was criticised, after all it was just a MK4 Golf in a frock.

The Mk2 TTs are also pretty widely regarded as pretty mundane drives (with the exception of the TTS and TTRS....bit dear still). Maybe it's just TTs in general.
 
MK1 TTs are riddled with issues, I was going to get one before I got a z4.
I still kind of want one though but then again I want a new car all the time :thumbsup:

Yeah some 2006 cars sneaked into Tax Band L - think you can only get 05 / 55 and 06 QS before the MKII came in.
