Guys,

I imagine this is the the most boring question on here. I am looking to buy a Z4. I have a budget of 12k. what do I need to look out for. I am no car expect and will probably get done if I go out there without some advice.

How about a low mileage E86 (Coupe) in Silver - Auto - high spec'ed?

I have the 2.0i Sport and I would suggest it would suit your needs. Plenty quick enough, with the 150bhp engine, for what you want without breaking the bank on insurance, ved, petrol and general running costs.
 
Don't get us all started on the 'Coupe vs Roadster' argument.

You must have an idea of what you want - I test drove a 2.0 roadster and then a 3.0 Coupe and that's what you see.

There are fewer Coupes and that tends to keep the price higher - but if you want feel the wind in you hair, then you need a Roadster....
 
It depends what you want the car for.

If you want a roadster, then £12k would open you up to a Z4M....but these come with a premium of running costs etc.

Are you after performance, or is it purely for cruising about and it's the appearance/ convertible aspect that you are after?

Thanks, I like driving but I also want to feel the wind over my skin head! I am looking for a car that gives me a thill (on a budget).

Sorry to start a roadster v coupe fight. I think I prefer the roadster look but I want soft top. Thanks agian. looks like I am looking ta the right car.

have a look at the 3 litre roadsters (soft top) they'll have plenty of power for you but will still be available on your budget...you could even afford a decent one!

The OP has already said he's on a budget so probably wouldn't be happy with the excessive running costs associated with an M.
 
you are spending too much.
Start looking around £7k and then up your budget if you don't like what you see.


The e86 is the coupe
e85 is soft top
e89 is the newer folding tiptop.
