z4 with a tow bar

It's possible but expect to pay about over £1000 as it's not exactly something most people have on a Z.

as long as i know its possible i have a company through work i can use just didnt fancy ringing them up and being told its not possible lol... ideally want a removable one so it doesnt look silly but i guess its going to look silly hahah

There's also a legal requirement to make sure it's approved. I don't think it was ever offered as a UK dealer option, so, even if you get one fitted from parts supplied by a Company in Europe, it may still be illegal to use it, so do your homework before splashing the cash.

The important bits...
1. Fitment of a non Type Approved towbar for a vehicle registered 'S' and onwards could result in prosecution.

2. If a non Type Approved towbar is fitted, the driver's insurance may be invalidated in the event of an accident.

There is one available at huge cost, but as above the Z4 was never designed for a towbar so insurance etc might be an issue.

doing a bit of research it seems you can have one fitted for the purpose of fitting a motorbike rack... that would work for me

I always thought it was funny when I am asked if I have a tow bar fitted on a Z4M when I get insurance quotes, now I know why they ask.
