Z4 wishlist

I know cars are an ever-evolving thing and wants and needs can change over time. When I bought my Z4 there were 3 things I decided I wanted -

1) A sportier exhaust note (nothing too hooligan, but it’s a sports car after all).
2) Elipsoid wheels (I just love this wheels and ironically mine was spec’d with these from factory, but obviously sold at some point in the cars life).
3) A set of the m-sports seats (standard seats are nice but found myself coveting everyones m-sports seats at meets and in forum posts).

I’ve managed to sort out 2 of the 3 so far. Gravity performance exhaust which I’m really pleased with and bonus that it’s also sailed through MOT emissions! Set of elipsoids from a chap called Simon Ireland on facebook, who refurbishes BMW wheels. Hopefully Rob (Usel) is going to complete the list for me, with a set of m-sport seats coming soon :D

I know it can be argued that I should have just held out for a car which had some of these already, but for me the joy is in searching for pieces of the jigsaw, to try and achieve my ‘dream spec’.

Just wondering who else has a list of ‘wants’ and why? Also how close you are to finishing your list!

Absolutely, it's not just driving them it's making them your own isnt it.

My list for mods to the new to me Imola M are;

Supersprint X section and power loop back boxes...Installed.
OEM CSL's with new PS4's....Fitted.
AP 6 pot fronts 4 pot rear bbk... Bought, waiting for fitting.
Vibra technics engine mounts....bought, waiting for fitting.
RTAB limiters....bought, waiting for fitting.
KWV3 coil overs.....bought, waiting for fitting.
Short shifter.....not bought as yet.
Smart top roof module....fitted.
OEM front strut brace....fitted.
New seats....probably CS, not 100% decided yet.
Think that's it for now, itching to get them fitted but my ramp is needed for other cars right now.

Hopefully all these are to make the M the car ive always really wanted them to be, for the price of them I think they make pretty spectacular cars but are a little bit flawed especially in the spring rates, so by adding individual parts makes it my own as you have. :driving:

It's an illness this modding lark....

Thats a heck of a wishlist, my dreams feel rather small in comparison!

You’ve summed it up perfectly, I’ve always liked to add my own individual touches to my cars. I have toned it down a lot from my ‘twin 5 inch exhaust’ days, thank goodness!

I have no doubt your M will be even more fantastic once you’re done. I look foward to seeing it  Imola red is one of my favourite colours. My dream car has long been an E36 M3 GT in Imola red, although with prices now I’ll need a lottery win…

Didn't mean it to come across as willy waving Squerr...truly not meant as that. Doesn't matter how big or small the mods are it's making it individual isn't it. Enjoy your journey. :driving:

Couldn't agree more OP. I could have bought an e89 for the money I have spent on my e85 and many (mostly women) have called me crazy for spending more than the car is worth. Making it as close to top spec as possible has become a bit of an obsession.

I'm almost at the end of my journey. MFSW with paddles and facelift climate controls are going in later this week, which just leaves a back box mod, carly coding and ultimately M sport bumper. Think the latter will take some time!

I genuinely didn’t take it that way mate  I just meant I probably need to start adding to the things I want doing. And if the missus complains, I’ll just tell her ‘John made me do it’ :D

As long as you don’t say the big boy did it then ran away because she’ll know it wasn’t John then :poke:

My wish list is probably quite limited - air intake to enhance the sound and 19 inch CSL wheels to enhance the look of the car. I have upgraded my audio with the Pioneer AVH-Z7200DAB. The sound is now so much better and Apple CarPlay too - what’s not to like (although maybe not one for the Z4M purists!)

This is a better photo. Maybe not one for the purists but adds latest technology to an amazing car..
