Z4 Waterpump purchasing suggestion

Hi guys
Prior to purchasing my Z4 I did a little research as to what to watch out for as far as generic issues was concerned
The only oft repeated warning was the “waterpump” failing issue.

I could not find a Z4 at the time that had the waterpump changed so purchased a Z4 and changed it as a precaution.

I searched a myriad of suppliers in the uk for the part and the cheapest started at £350 to up to £500

However, I did finally find a supplier in Europe called Cartech-one who supplied the Pierburg waterpump £202 delivered!

So unless there is a supplier I am unaware of in uk, I strongly suggest these guys.
It arrived within 5 days too from ordering.

A bit over £200 is the norm now for ordering a Pierburg pump from a few different European sellers on eBay.

Cheers for the info! I’m considering replacing mine soon as I’m on 79k

That's a good price for a Pierburg pump - which is the same one that BMW will sell you for just over £500! :o

Euro Car Parts tend to do them for around £250.

yeh, I tried eurocar parts but their normal price was £400+
It was still £300+ using online discount codes

But I guess it depends on what codes are in offer at any given time?

Is it a DIY replacement? I have heard it’s not as bad as most cars.
hi, I did not dare try to replace it myself lol
I’m a complete novice at car mechanics
I used M-tek in Northampton to do the fitting
As I had the to gasket replaced too, it was part of a dual fit.

I paid £500 reconditioned and fitted over 2 years ago !
Worth a punt at that price
certainly is worth a punt
It’s OEM part at more or less half the price
Kinda frustrating that the same part can be purchased across the channel for about half the price!
How can that be rationalised or justified? :?

Bought my Pierburg pump and a behr thermostat from atp in Germany for £280 - which I thought was pretty good. £202 for the pump seems a great price. DIY wasn’t too difficult - flushing and refilling coolant took most of the time!
