Z4 wanted 2 or 2.2

Hi zoomer

I got a 2 litre black zed with red leather if your interested. I upgraded to a 3 litre and my 2 litre has been sat on the drive since. Great little car. I've done plenty of miles in it. Message me if your interested and I'll send you some pics. Jay

Hi James it's the op(Douglas) who wants one, I was asking him how much he wanted to pay as cheap to one man can be expensive to another

Hi
I just recently had the same dilemma with what one to buy and the members on here did seem to point towards the 2.2 over the 2.0 for reliability and engine sound and I have to say I drove both and in the end bought the 2.2 it has a much nicer sound imo and feels like more of a car than the 2.0 again imo, best of luck with your search had mine for just under a month and I love it can't see it going anywhere anytime soon.
Matt.

Welcome to the forum Douglas.

FWIW my local BMW independent (ex-Sytner) recommends avoiding 4 cylinder BMW's, so I'd go for a 2.2 in your situation. Plus the 6 cylinder ones just sound so much better anyway!

Hope you find one soon - then we need photos!

Hi thanks for all you help so I am feeling there are issues with the 2 lt? not to worried about mpg just a 2nd car for days out ect I live in Derbyshire so need to have a drive of one now

Hi Zoomer are you saying your car is for sale ?

The difference in mpg and insurance is negligible between models- the 2.0 can have issues, especially in facelift (post 06) cars. The 2.2 is a great car, but quite rare so don't rule out a 2.5 to widen your search.

Or even the three litre. Insurance could be less for a bigger engine even. Other cost differences also negligible.

Douglas, are you still looking for a 2.0? We're thinking of selling ours, a 2.0 2008 in silver which we've had from new. If you're interested I can post the details.
