Morning all,

There is a good article in this months BMW Car Magazine comparing the E85 and E89 3.0 Z4s.

If anyone wants me to scan in the article I am more than happy to oblige...(is that allowed?)

LOL I can't quote exactly but it was something like the E85 gives more of a raw, engaging experience (I think they used the word "teenager" in there somewhere) whilst the E89 is an extremely refined and more grown up cruiser. The last sentence was about neither cars being as well remembered as the Z1 in 20 years time, although I'm not sure what that has to do with the comparison of the two Z4s...nevermind!

I will scan the article in for you all to read when I can....

They probably just put that in to keep the old fogeys happy

Completely wrong versions to compare.....

They should compare the E85 M against the E89 3.5is

Principle of comparison is the same though. Actually, comparing two non Ms is better so you don't have the issue of LSD etc.

i tried a new 2.3 cost £32000 but thought it was more a softster in the end bought the 57 plate 3.0si for £12000 less and barely run in. a proper car, no competition! even if the mag had compared the new car with a 3.0si and not an m on paper it would have got blown away and the m would have left it for dead.

Well at some point you are wright...but BMW announced the they will NOT produce an E89 M Version....

SO the question is : Is the new top of range model as adrenalin kicking as the previous one

Might be an interesting read. Not normally a magazine I'd look at - I'm not an out and out BMW fan boi - but I'll head along to WH Smith for some lunchtime reading. Might even buy it if it's any good

Hi All,

I won't be able to scan in the article just yet - waiting to hear back from forums mods as to whether it is okay to post whilst the magazine is still in print.

Alternatively it is only £4.50 for the real deal at your local WHSmith :D

General concensus amongst the mods is that you cannot scan an article like this and post it on the forum as it's bound to infringe copyright.

Boring I know

That is totally cool - so I'd suggest you all go and buy the magazine as it is a good issue and has other interesting articles such as one on depreciation-proof classics including the Z3M :)
