Z4 Valuation Assistance Required

Afternoon All,
I appreciate forums don’t typically appreciate people asking about valuations etc. however my Auntie has asked her if I will assist in selling her Z4. I’m not that familiar with the cars however there appears to be quite a variation when looking at prices on Autotrader, eBay etc.
The car in question is a 2006 2.0 SE Roaster in red
22,600 miles with FSH
MOT October 2015
Heated Black Leather Seats, Leather Steering wheel and gear knob. 6 Speed manual transmission.
2 previous owners
2 Keys present and all BMW literature / manuals
The car also comes with the standard wheels and tyres which are in boxes however she bought it with the 18” wheels fitted. (Do we remove the 18” wheels for selling it and put the standard wheels back on? They’re in immaculate condition and the tyres have plenty of tread).
I’ve driven the car personally and it drives as you would expect from a car with such low mileage – i.e. no issues at all.
Any assistance on a valuation of the car would be greatly appreciated.

Great colour and low miles. My advice would be to search autotrader, pistonheads etc. for a similar spec car and price yours competitively. Keep the 18" wheels on it as they are an important part of the whole look, the low miles and the rare colour will help sell it too.

Get a new MOT done - I know an MOT is not any sort of guarantee of condition but people would expect a relatively recent one.

And, if those are genuine CSL wheels (difficult to tell from the small picture), put the originals back on and sell the CSLs separately, they're a desirable wheel and you should have no problem selling them

I've had a look and they aren't CSL wheels, so leave them on as they are quite a popular style and should help the sale.
 
Appreciate the replies. The plan is to re-MOT the car before advertising it. It has, however, done less than 500 miles since last year’s MOT so it will sail through another one.
As per my original thread, does anyone have any idea as to what it’s worth? The reason I posted in a Z4 forum is I thought you guys would be able to give me a ‘ball park’ figure with ease?

Your best way for a fair market valuation is WBAC then add 10/15% to give a figure you should achieve privately .
This could stretch a little for a car with good colour combo , upgraded alloys .
A well written advert with decent pics will also help attain a higher price
My guess would be somewhere etween £6500 & £8000 private sale as any more & its into 6 cyl Si territory . A downside you have is a marketplace pretty much flooded with 2.0Se Zs although your mileage will draw the right attention

I would say somewhere in the region of £7000 ish because its a 2litre SE model but im not 100% sure on that as its low mileage it could be worth more. Hopefully someone else can give a better idea.
 
The value of your Aunt's Zed lies in it's condition, rare colour and low mileage. If someone is searching for a 2.0 litre then this would be a well considered purchase. As mr wilks has said the market is awash with 2.0 litres and the preferred model is the 2.0i Sport which comes with sports seats, ///Msport wheels, ///M sport steering wheel and lowered sports suspension. However the SE version is said to have a nicer ride than the sport.
Depending on how quickly you want to sell, I would be tempted to advertise high whilst the summer (such that it is) remains - say at £7999 then come down if there is no interest. Emphasise the low mileage, colour rarity and lower running costs than the six cylinder Zeds. At the highest price you could include the standard wheels and tyres but as you come down in price, sell them separately to make up the difference.
Advertise it with good photographs and it should attract interest due to the colour - good luck with the sale
 
Very solid advice above - you're in the same price band as earlier cars with more performance so stress the low miles and colour. GLWTS,

We’re going to get the car MOT’d and serviced at BMW so it’s ready for sale, as above this should make it as marketable as possible.
Based on the above comments we’ll advertise it for £7500 and see how we get on.

That's the car now advertised on eBay, Gumtree, Autotrader and Pistonheads. If anyone is looking for or knows of anyone interested in the car please feel free to get in touch. You can post in the For Sale section here, just add a new topic (perhaps include the engine size, colour, mileage and price in the subject) and include your ebay link.

Looks very nice - ad could probably do with a couple more pictures of the interior though to show the condition of the seats

Is it me or are red Zeds (non-Imola of course) usually the smaller engined types? Don't think I've seen many 3.0 roadsters in the standard red.

I've got a red 3.0si roadster, but don't think there are many about - certainly not come across many on this forum?

Very rare I'd have thought. Probably even more so in pre-2006se form too.
