Z4 v Vauxhall Meriva

I'm not having a great time of it right now. Following on from my episode with the fuel gauge the other day, I decided it would be fun to drive into the back of a Vauxhall Meriva on the way to work today. :headbang:

A small scratch on her bumper, I have split the number plate housing, cracked the plastic around one of the kidney grills and snapped one of the brackets on the other one so that that grill will not stay in place.

Never did I think a Meriva would come off better in a fight with a Z, but there you go. :(

Does anyone know how long can I drive the car with one of the grills missing, will it cause any damage to the radiator behind if it gets a soaking with our lovely Welsh rain? Is it something I need to be wary of?

I will be looking up the cost of replacement grills and a bumper fix (for the second time) soon.........

bummer :(

no idea about the radiator, but would imagine it would be ok - there is quite a gap to the radiator isnt there?

Thats very unlucky...

Can you not zip tie the grill to the bumper just incase... but i'd also imagine the radiator wouldnt mind getting a soaking.

Probably wouldn't like a stone hurtling towards it though :?

That's what I was going to say... I don't reckon the grilles keep a lot of water out, it's debris you want to be wary of!

The gaps are so big between the grill slats a lot of crap already gets through.

You wont have any issues unless an object hits the radiator but even then I bet that already happens with the grill in place

so your grills just normally let air through, but not water? :poke:
